A close family friend recommended Mrs. Moreno to me for a case where I was going to lose visitation and all of my rights with my little girl. And I'm not going to lie. The court could have easily ruled in favor of my baby's momma because of my criminal history, but Mrs. Moreno made sure that didn't happen! She got in there and fought for me! My baby's momma's family has money to hire high-dollar attorneys but I don't. Her fees were reasonable enough for me to hire her. When the case was over we were in the hallway talking and her attorney came over to us, shook Mrs. Moreno's hand, and expressed how impressed he was with her mad skills! I have never seen an attorney compliment an opposing attorney that way! I can't even tell you how thankful I am for this little badass in high heels!

Jessica was my court appointed attorney and to say she was the worst attorney I have ever had is an understatement. Her nor her assistant would ever return any calls. She actually did worse by never even consulting with the district attorney. If you sign up for a job than you need to do it to the best of your ability. There was nothing good that came out of this attorney and my current attorney I have now is unraveling all her mess.

I hired Jessica in November 2023 for a high conflict, divorce and custody case in which she stated she was very prepared and she was able to handle my case. She failed to object to a motion of continuance Causing my final court date to be moved to March 2024. On November 27, 2023 Jessica and I were supposed to go over my evidence and game plan for the trial the next day. Jessica never called me even after sending emails and text Messages. The day of our court date, Jessica just rolled over and did not fight An objection of the continuance. Once the court date was moved to March of 2024 Jessica failed to communicate Or do her job Which has cost me about $15,000 in January alone to fix the mess she made. Stay away from her as she has numerous reviews of taking peoples money, and then ignoring them, or failing to show up to court dates. It makes sense why she did not fight the motion of continuance for me because she was not prepared for the case. The first court date we had Together she was over 45 minutes late. This court date was the only one she “won” for me and that was only because previously I was Pro Se and filed the motion and did the leg work myself. All she did was show up. I sent out a demand letter for her to answer my emails and give me an invoice after trying to reach her from December 2023 up until January 2024 with NO response. She answered my demand letter Almost immediately After ignoring me for months. In her response, she did not answer any of my questions, and stated that she would answer them later that day, which she never did . When she sent me my invoice I requested it then I saw her charging me for the emails that I had sent her asking why she didn’t respond to my previous emails. Jessica took my money and then basically left me alone, confused and broke with no legal help and tried to charge me more and at a rate that was not agreed upon. Till this day, she has still failed to respond to me, And due to her actions or should I say inactions, it has caused me tremendous legal fees To fix her mistakes. You have better odds researching laws and filing Pro Se then Having Jessica represent you.

I can’t say enough about Vik Vij. He represented me as my court appointed lawyer and right off the bat I knew he takes his cases seriously. He told me things were going to go and they went exactly that way and got my case dismissed. Great lawyer and an even better human. I’m definitely keeping his info in case I need representation in the future.

Sheena from Shiloh Travel and Tours helped me with my OCI Application. She was very prompt and did everything fast. I am thrilled with this service. My friend uses them for her overseas travel and I will be using them too. I wouldn’t have been able to do this without their OCI support. Thank you so much.

Proof is in the Performance: We are US citizens, retired in Mexico with family and Medicare in Houston. I've headed Nasdaq & Asian public companies from Silicon Valley for 30+ years with significant legal teams. Now we are finally focused on ourselves and personal legal representation is at the forefront. Due to an emergency medical situation February 28, 2019, we arrived at 7pm in the Methodist Hospital ER and needed full legal help--- Wills, DNR, Hippa, Pwr of Atty, +. T-G, PLLC only had 24 hours to prepare all documents, come to the ER on a Cold and rainy night, bring a witness and a Notary Public and explain clearly ALL to us. WOW! Ms. Grubbs is a valued professional with an easy demeanor and total grasp of what's needed. We are most impressed, pleased with the documents and her personal caring service. Thank you Betsy.

When I was inundated with several pages of contract terms I didn't quite understand, I hired Teltschik-Grubbs. Betsy was very professional and deciphered all the "legal jargon" into something I could understand. She saw my contract term negotiations through to the end. I'm thankful I hired them cause I could have been at great risk on a "one-sided" contract.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Sugar Land, Texas?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
