I would trust RB Poole with my life, literally. I have used him for two custody cases and sought his consultation on a third that was out of his work area. He may be expensive, but he makes up that in conciseness. You are in and out, no prolonged litigations and no multiple court appointments. He knows his case and he expects you to do your part to help him help you. He understands his angle and he expects you to stay on the page. He cuts to the chase- no beating around the bush. When you go in for consult, he cites the law books from by heart and gives you the truth about your case. He wastes no time and he doesn't want you wasting his. Stay on-point and keep your story relative to the case at hand. While you may find him serious and curt, you will not find him wasting your dollars on long conversations and playing games with a mealy-mouthed, skirting of issues with the judge. If you want a smart lawyer with experience and guts (I would say balls but I'm a damn lady,) AND you can handle the harsh reality of your situation, RB will get you what you need. His job is not to be your best friend-- his job is to win justice and by God, he does.

Honest, fair, not a penny pincher! RB was our custody attorney for years and never let us down or lost in court. He is straightforward, highly respected, and easy to get ahold of. His staff is amazing as well. I highly recommend him!

Worst decision I made during my divorce was to hire a man that only cares about money. He says he cares for you, but not once did he call a meeting or call me during a six month time frame. Then he decided to withdrawl from my case because of a lack of communication. He just wanted the divorce to drag on and cost more money. I told him numerous times that I agreed with the decree and I just wanted the divorce done. After spending almost $2700 I had to get a new lawyer to do what he should have done if he had any integrity at all.

He doesn't return calls. Several times I called him and he literally hung up on me. I was referred to him by another attorney and I regret ever hiring him. In my custody case I got nothing I wanted. He failed to explain important precedings to me and was rude when I asked for clarifications about them. I regret hiring him.

I hired R B Pool to represent me in my divorce in Kaufman County. I trusted that he would cover everything I needed to know since I paid him $3,500 (and other lawyers in my community were $2,500). I thought by paying more I would get the best. He insulted me several times, his staff were some of the rudest people I have ever dealt with. Now two years after my divorce my ex husband passed away. There was a life insurance policy on my ex husband and Mr. Pool was aware of the policy because it was listed in my divorce. I was the beneficiary and my ex husband made the decision not to remove me as the beneficiary because we had a child together. After his death I was informed by Colonial Life Insurance that an ex spouse's rights as beneficiary are revoked due to divorce in the state of Texas. I called Mr. Pool's office to try to get help with the situation and again his staff was rude, I called several times, eight business days have passed and he never returned my call. The receptionist put another lawyer, Tina Hall on the phone with me who was equally rude and advised me it wasn't Mr. Pool's responsibility to tell me I would no longer be eligible as the beneficiary. Who's responsibility was it?? I am not a lawyer!! I don't know Texas laws, that's why I hired a lawyer. Now I'm having to hire an estate attorney to the tune of $5,000 to set up an estate and name me or my son as executor to claim the insurance policy. Unless you want to spend a lot of money and be treated like an inconvenience DO NOT HIRE THIS MAN!!!

I am the father in a divorce with children. He performed the mediation. I would not recommend him. He was instructed to implement guidelines support outside of mediation which he did not. It has been very expensive to correct.

He didn't keep in the loop about things. He didn't return my calls on a timely manner and was charged nearly $5000.00 and I didn't feel he was doing a good job with the money I had paid him.
