I have never written a google review in my entire life, and this is my first review. I was brutally cheated by the Legal system and my Attorney (SB), and I believe he colluded with my ex-wife, Attorney (MM), and Children's Attorney (SW), appointed by the Court. I am devastated and helpless and can't believe this can happen in America. I applied for Divorce in October 2018 in a small town called Brenham in Texas. In June 2019, a temporary hearing occurred; my Attorney (SB), didn't ask questions related to how I raised my kids and didn't cross-verify many key items what my ex-wife said to the Court. Also, he didn't file a Request for Relief before the Temporary hearing, which my ex-wife's Attorney (MM) pointed out. The Court decided to give Child custody to my ex-wife and I was kicked out of my home. My ex-wife's Attorney (MM) filed a petition to appoint a Children's Attorney just a couple of weeks before the Jury trial was originally planned, and the Court immediately appointed SW. She met for the first time, and I shared some key OFW messages and shared details about how my ex-wife was not cooperating with co-parenting, doing parent alienation, and the kids' grades were going downhill. She asked me to send all the OFW photos, videos, and text messages, and I sent an email. After sending the email, She even refused to acknowledge the email and refused to meet 2nd time as she told me she would do. My kids always share what Atttorney says to them, and I asked my Attorney (SB), why Children Attorney (SW) did not ask which parent did what before the Divorce. After this, Children Attorney (SW) somehow came to know; she started telling my kids that their conversation was private and should not be shared with anyone. She took the stance that my ex-wife should get kids custody and never put together one single exhibit to support it other than using my ex-wife's Exhibits. I shared this with my Attorney (SB), and nothing changed. She even met with my kids at my ex-wife's place after the Jury decision and told my kids that conversation is private and can't be shared with anyone. After several postponements of the Jury trial, the Jury trial was held in August 2022. By God's grace and Robby Neal help and support, I could share most of my story with the Jury and how I raised my two little boys. After a seven-day trial, the Jury gave me kids custody, and Divorce was granted in favor of me. Finally, the divorce decree was signed in August 2023 with split custody, and the property was split unfairly and unjustly, and I ended up with no money in my bank account with thousands and thousands of loans (More than 100K). Even though Jury game me Right to designate Primary residence, the Court decided to give the home to my ex-wife and now some how law changed. After Temporary hearing, The Judge gave same Right to designate primary residence and then my Attorney (SB) told me that my ex-wife designated my house as Primary residence and I am kicked out. I called many Applette court attorneys and found out that I couldn't afford to fight for Justice. During the process, I had an appointment with Susan, and before she called me on October 4, 2023, she had reviewed my case on a high level. After asking me a few questions, she agreed to represent me, and the fees she quoted were 70% less than the lowest amount I heard so far. On October 5, 2023, I signed the contract. I have no words to describe how grateful I am to have Susan as my Attorney for the appeal. She is a Guardian angel sent by God during devastating moments in my life to help me and fight for Justice. Thank you to Susan and her team for helping me during this process. From bottom of heart, THANK YOU and THANK YOU Susan for helping me to fight for Justice and THANK YOU god for helping me to find incredible Susan.

Here, I am introducing a law Firm named Clouthier Law, PLLC. I am 75 years old now, and I become a Victim of Elder Investment Fraud, and I was looking for a competent attorney to represent me and few other victims who were severely harmed in a case which we filed in 296th, Judicial District Court Collin County Texas . I contacted almost 100 reputed law Firms in Texas and other States, but I noticed that no law Firms were ready to represent the victims, especially Elderly Victims, because the Federal Lawmakers like FBI, FTC, SEC, DOJ, and their Prosecutors are the one who is handling the cases like Elder Investment fraud. As an Indian American I learned that language is the greatest barrier for me to talk to the American Attorneys. My First Language is MALAYALAM and English is my Second Language. Finally, I contacted attorney Susan Clouthier, who is residing in Texas, and I am in New York.Attorney Susan clearly understood my weakness, and very patiently listened my case, and offered me her service, and took the case. She reviewed the case, and came forward to represent us. In my opinion, this case is one of the "Notorious Case" in the history of Indian Americans, and I fully believe that Attorneys like Susan Clouthier will definitely win this case due to preponderance of Evidence in this case.In our case a Receiver was appointed to Investigate the case as per the request of the attorneys we hired. At the beginning the Receiver "Discovered" that there were "Multiple Badges of Fraud" committed by Former Directors of the company.Still the receiver made a settlement agreement with the Defendants and Closed the original case in the 296th, Court, and went to a different Court 471st Judicial District Court, Collin County, TX and filed a Case and misrepresented the court, and settled the case in favor of the defendants that severely " Harmed" elderly victims like me. So, we Opposed the receiver's decision with the help of Attorney Susan J. Clouthier, Esq., and filed an Appeal in the 5th COURT OF APPEALS, DALLAS, TEXAS.We, the severely harmed Elderly victims of Investment Fraud believe that we will get Justice from the HONORABLE JUDGE OF THE 5th COURT OF APPEALS, TX with the help of attorney Susan J. Clouthier and her team, because Attorney Susan and her team properly researched, investigated, and studied the case and prepared the Appellate Brief and filed it in the court. I fully believe that we, the elderly victims will win this case with the help of Attorney Susan Clouthier and her team. For Elderly Victims like us, Attorney Susan J. Clouthier and the Clouthier LAW, PLLC, is highly recommended. Thomas J. Koovalloor Member of Facebook, Twitter X, and LinkedIn.

Susan and her team have filed a brief in my Civil Appeal case. It is well written and I only hope it helps not just myself but others that may have been treated the same way by our Justice system. I have been very pleased in their ability in a situation that is pretty complicated. The degree of understanding and communication is rare when it should not be but finding someone that not only understands but fights for your rights is so appreciated. Johnnie Hargrave

Engaged the law office of Todd Lehn to help me with a traffic ticket that I believe was not right. They were extremely courteous, got on it right away and kept me informed of what was happening. They got my ticket dismissed quickly and without any frustration I would HIGHY recommend Todd Lehn PLLC for any legal help or advice.

Todd and his LA Tamara were fantastic. Even on such a low level ticket I was given, they treated it seriously and gave me all the attention it needed. More importantly, they really knew their stuff and ended up getting the ticket dismissed. They kept me informed throughout the process and were able to answer any questions i had. I'll definitely be using this office again if it's needed.

From the first phone call, I knew that we had made the right choice. With this said, I am not a trusting person by nature, especially when it is difficult to conduct business face-to-face, due to covid. I have spent the past (3) months talking and emailing back and forth with Mr. Mussalli with regards to my situation...without ever being able to look into his eyes and make a decision on his trustworthiness. Mr. Mussalli guided my wife and I through this difficult situation with my business. He propped us up when we were feeling unstable, he pushed us along when our stubbornness began to take hold, and all the while keeping his calm and encouraging us to do the same. He did all of this with the many obstacles that we are all facing, but with illness within his own family as well. As I have now read his other 5-Star reviews here, it appears that this was not a one-off situation. While our circumstances were different than all of the other reviews, our encounter was exactly the same. To put a bow on it...in our eyes, Matt Mussalli is a Fantastic Person First and an Accomplished Lawyer Second! Very easy to talk to, extremely fair and transparent on billing, and really knows how to listen to your needs...as well as manage your expectations. I don't ever want to "need" Mr. Mussalli again, but I will not hesitate to contact him if needed and I would recommend him to ANYONE who is in need of an intelligent, compassionate friend, who happens to also be a Great Lawyer! We cannot thank him enough!!!

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of The Woodlands, Texas?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
