I’ve been afraid to write this review for years, because I didn’t want to seem ungrateful, but I have been trying to contact this lawyer for two months now with no answer, so this has now reached a level where I would feel it’s irresponsible if I don’t warn other people and prevent them from having the same unpleasant experience as I did. Let me be clear however: I did get my green card with this lawyer’s help. But I cannot recommend him in good faith because of his lack of organization/administrative skills, and communication skills. We had more appointments than necessary, because instead of giving us a list of documents from the beginning, we’d arrive to the meeting with the single document he requested, only for him to send us out to get yet another document and schedule yet another appointment where he’d tell us about yet another document we needed to bring next time, and so on. Other times he just forgot to tell us to bring certain documents and thought we already had them. It was quite odd, like he wasn’t “there" all the time. One time we made an appointment and he plain forgot, so we had to reschedule after we arrived and he wasn’t in his office. (Which under normal circumstances would be easy to forgive, but given all the other hiccups…) After the appointments were over, anytime we needed to contact him, it was never a straightforward experience. Texts, e-mails, phone calls, voicemails, we’d have to try all four before we finally got ahold of him, if that (sometimes he’d answer days later, even weeks, sometimes he wouldn’t answer at all). And even respecting the fact that lawyers are busy people with many clients and many responsibilities, a simple “read” receipt, or “I’ll get back to you in a couple of days” would have sufficed. Or simply hiring a secretary or an assistant would have made all the difference in the world. (For reference: last night I contacted four other immigration lawyers in the area and they all answered within 12 hours.) The only time this lawyer was consistently communicative was when he sent me many e-mails requesting that I leave a review, which again, I was afraid to do because of my bad experience. I now have to wonder if he is avoiding us because we never left a review? However, considering we're in a pandemic, I do hope his disappearance is not corona-related and that he’s okay. Did I get a green card? Yes. But it wasn’t a smooth experience, and given the crippling anxiety that the immigration process entails, I would not recommend this lawyer to anyone else going through this. The process is already stressful enough by itself without adding an unreliable lawyer to it.

I would recommend Alexus to anyone who has either a question regarding immigration or needs representation. He’s been very helpful providing guidance for my naturalization application and interview. What I enjoyed most about working with Alexus has been his calm nature, honesty, and supportive approach.

We hired Alexus to help file my wife’s green card petition. Alexus sent us all the paperwork that needed to be filled out. His real value was in preparing all the supporting documentation that made our case super strong. He also attended the interview with us and we were approved immediately. Our interview date came at such short notice but Alexus canceled personal plans and fought flooding conditions to be with us at the interview. Mr. Alexus Sham was a pleasure to work with on our case! He is very professional and responsive. Most importantly, he was upfront and honest about what we could expect going forward with our challenging situation. Everything panned out the way he said it would, including a challenging line of questioning about our lengthy time abroad. Despite that, my husband walked out with a 10 year green card! We really felt that having an attorney present in the interview room helped. But if you are going to spend money, you might as well get someone who is particularly well-versed in marriage cases and has competitive rates, like Mr. Sham. Furthermore, we never felt rushed out the door. Mr. Sham prepared us well for the interview by providing us an exhaustive list of possible questions to study in advance of our meetings with him, and we spent time discussing the difficult ones. We were afraid our true answers to simple questions would lead to more challenging questions, and Mr. Sham prepared us. He was also proactive in setting up a meeting so that we could review our strategy the day before the interview. We only 2 weeks from the initial consultation to the interview, but Mr. Sham made time for us. Mr. Sham was clear that we do not have a lot of control over the situation as the officer has the final say, but he made sure that we didn't do anything that could potentially hurt an appeal down the road. For example, he told us how to best avoid tough questions under oath without lying. He also told us what to emphasize in order to steer the interview in our favour. From the beginning, I felt that Mr. Alexus Sham would be a good attorney to have on our case. He even prepared for our initial consultation by requesting documents over email. Our time and money was well respected. I highly recommend Mr. Sham for any immigration case!

Alexus did a great job in assisting us with my wife's Green Card application and guiding us through the rather cumbersome process. There are a lot of forms and without his help, we could have easily filled something out incorrectly and the process would have been delayed. But Alexus made sure that didn't happen and once everything was sent in, the process was a breeze! I was glad we used him and you will be too.
