An IP litigator friend of mine once told me that Basil "... is the best." After having worked with several patent attorneys over the years, I can now attest to that too. I especially like Basil's NO bull$hit and matter-of-fact demeanor, both of which keep things focused and to the point; whilst NOT being overly formal, but instead friendly and fun.

I have worked with many patent lawyers and always struggled in that the lawyers was not able to fully understand the invention and me and our team had to spend a lot of time helping with the patent. In this case I was really impressed by how quick Basil understood the invention and value and I was frankly very amazed with the results and that the process was without much assisting from our side except initial correspondence on explaining the invention and review after. This saved us a lot of time compared to before and this was also in a very new and highly technical area of Computer Science.

We hired Basil to write and submit a process patent on the company's behalf. He is extremely knowledgeable and a very fast learner. He understood the goal of our CTO immediately, and worked tirelessly to translate a very technical and esoteric workflow into a patent submission that we are all proud of. We were so impressed with his ability to reduce complex concepts to concrete descriptions we have shared the patent application with new employees, so they better (and more quickly) understand what we do. Whenever there was a delay in the process, it could be laid at our feet. Basil was always timely in his response, and occasionally prodded us to make sure we would provide him with feedback in a timely manner. I cannot recommend him highly enough, and we will be engaging him for future work as well.

Basil helped our company to prepare and file a patent application. He is very professional, knowledgeable and efficient. Great understanding of the complicated engineering invention, very fast and well-organized attorney-client communication. Also, Basil is very patient answering our questions and explaining the legal process and details.

Basil, did a great job representing our interest. Admittingly we didn't have much experience in this space and went to him with a very broad framework. He spent a lot of time walking us through various scenarios so that we understand the process and for him to understand our product. We spent a lot of time filtering out what was unique and what we wanted to protect against potential infringement. Also what was helpful- Basil has a good a very good broad understanding of new technologies and their applications and not just from the legality perspective. This was a tremendous amount of help when technically defining and articulating the application and use cases.

Basil was referred to us by a well known large firm that had no interest in handling a product launch from a small group of entrepreneurs. The two partners very much enjoyed working with him. He is extremely transparent -- up front disclosure on hour prices with a good turnkey option available. He seemed genuinely interested in helping us save money. We started with a cost effective third party patent search that answered many of our questions. When we made the decision not to file, he was courteous and supportive, and provided valuable information of "gotchyas" to watch out for. I've done IP before, and got raked over the coals with another attorney to the tune of $30,000 that went no where. I suspect that had I used Basil, I would have saved the vast majority of that. Highly recommended.

Basil is easy to work with, transparent with his fees, and moves the process along efficiently. He is very accommodating and met us at our office and workshop for convenience. He is excellent at what he does.
