I found a blog written by Chris Harris on roof damage, it explained my situation right down to the very step. If my property was in Texas or he could practice in Illinois he would be the one I would want on my side. He was kind enough to not only speak to us on the phone but also answered a few emails after that. Its a shame I can't find someone like him that can help me with my roof claim in Illinois because its looking as if I might have to file my own lawsuit or face foreclosure. If you have any claims with your homeowners and you are in Texas I highly recommend you give him a call.

My partner's sister filed theft charges against me after my partner died. When I moved from her family home where we had lived together for many years, I took our bedroom suite, a love seat and a couple of tables. These were our things that were valued under $1000 by a used furniture specialist. But this small town of 1200 people and TWENTY SIX cops, were quick to have a warrant sworn out - they believed the sister who lives in south Texas and had not been home in 25 years --and I was arrested at my home, my things were taken. Fortunately, I was released immediately but the judge advised I was facing Texas State prison time because they filed felony theft - $3000 to $30000 value. I am 70 years old and had been with my partner on and off over 55 years. I still work at a very responsible position in finance where I could have lost my job - my life as I know it.
