Excellent tax and litigation law firm. Kevin is a hoot to work with as are the entire staff. As for the troll that left a one star review, why would you go to a law firm that deals in tax litigation for a traffic citation ? It makes no sense. Also, because of the COVID-19 issue, the office staff is having to work from home along with the fact that the courts are closed. Adjudication of a traffic citation needs to be dealt with by taking the online traffic school. It costs less. If on the other hand, your issue is drug or alcohol related then that option is off the table.

This place only gets one star because it was required to write a review. Let me say that i have spoke to maybe 2 pleasant ladies from their office. I thought from reading the reviews that this would be a good place to get my traffic matter handled. I thought wrong. I contacted them in February through my legal plan, and explained the issue, in which they stated they may be able to take care of it. I filled out the necessary paperwork, and waited for results. I waited about a week and called for an update, as i never received any information as to who my attorney would be or if the matter could even for sure be taken care of. I was given the name of someone else to speak to, and this started the cycle of endless excuses. Anytime i called whether it was 9 am or 4 pm, whoever i needed to speak to would always be "at lunch" or on a "call". When i finally spoke to someone a month later i was told that they had not made contact with the court which was funny because here i am 5 states away and the court answered every call and email i sent. I decided at that point to go with a different attorney since i need my license reinstated, and this firm doesn't really seem to have any urgency in the matter. i located a different attorney, who agreed to take the case, and emailed their staff to inform them that i no longer needed their services. The new attorney contacted me today to tell me that she could not do anything on the case because there was already an attorney listed on the case, which is funny because i was told by this firm that they couldn't get in contact with anyone from the court. I immediately call the firm to find out what was going on since i remember sending the email specifically stating that their services were no longer needed, but of course i was told that they were busy and someone would call me back. Fast forward 5 hours i have had enough with this firm and their bs so i contact my legal plan to see what i could do to remove them from my case. Im guessing they contacted the firm because i get a message back from my plan stating that Mcdonnell would like me to call. I do and he rudely answers the phone with "yeah" i proceed to ask him about the case in which he informs me of a court date in may that i have no knowledge of. I tell him that no one has told me about this court date and he states they have called and emailed me which is a lie i check my email hourly, and i would have definitely responded to something regarding my drivers license. I explain to him that i can't wait until may to rectify the situation and that i want the other lawyer i chose to represent me and that i need a letter stating that they are no longer representing me. He states that i dont, i try to explain to him that i have spoken to an employee at the courthouse and that is what they are requesting and he proceeds to raise his voice and tell me thats not how it works. I then speak to the other attorney Coates and explain to him that i need him to send over a document since they wont send the letter stating they arent representing me he states "i thought you hired another attorney" i them explain to him that i need the letter stating they are not representing me and he too begins to argue with me telling me i dont. I mean im pretty sure the people that work there know what i need. Now i cant do anything with my case because they refuse to send the letter, but want to send an email to my new attorney. Terrible terrible place. Worst mistake of my life thus far

McDonnell Coates has helped me restructure my business over the past year with the formation of a new entity and documents to expand and bring in a partner. Kevin and I met multiple times and I was always impressed by his and his staff's respect for my time and completion of my projects in a prompt manner. He was thorough in his information and was very patient with me as I was learning the nuances of my business's new direction. I highly recommend their services and will continue to use them as my business grows and changes.

Took them over 2 years to respond to the fact that they had sent my address to my abusive ex husband....they knew I was in a dangerous situation and told me that my address would not be on the copy of the divorce my ex would get...we even hand wrote it on the paper after he signed it so that he would NOT see my address when he signed the document. I had to move and break my lease because he knew where I was and made sure I knew. Aug of 2015 is when I first emailed them about the situation and I finally got a call/email yesterday Dec 13, 2017. So...if you want a lawyer that does what they say they will and returns correspondence in a timely fashion...don't use this place...And even more important....if you are in a domestic abuse situation - you are not safe to use them...they will not protect your address.

We hired this firm for a termination of parental rights and step parent adoption on October 31, 2016. This firm was provided with the absent parent’s photograph, home address, work address, and cell phone number. A year later they had not even served him the termination papers. This firm was slow to answer emails, consistently forgot to cc all parties involved on emails, and refused to give solid answers to questions. What should have been a straight forward case has been made anything but.

Very unprofessional!!! They are rude and doesn't do anything they say. I will be reporting them to the BBB.

Kevin McDonald has cheated me out of all the money he owes me just because he thinks he's going to turn you can do it that's wrong wrong wrong I think he should do business better. It is my opinion, that he is a rat. Stay away from him. Don't do any work for him.

I've worked with other tax attorney's in the past - however, this one is the best by far. Unlike past attorneys I've worked with, these guys are honest and up front with you. I highly recommend this law firm for anyone trying to realistically resolve a serious tax crisis. Regards Suave
