I was referred to this firm (Mr. Lione specifically) for a consultation on a residential real estate matter. I left a voicemail prior to the start of business on a Thursday, stating that it was related to a transaction the next day. I also emailed both Mr. Lione and the main office since the answering machine sounded like it was actually for Mr. Powell (another Partner). It’s now Saturday evening, and nobody has so much as acknowledged my request. I realize that an immediate response may not be feasible, but I feel like I should have heard *something* by now — even if it was a quick “we won’t be available to help you until such and such date”. I do still have questions, as I delayed the transaction.

If I had known of Mr. Carrasco, I would have hired him from the very start and truly believe I would be in a much better position. When I came to him many years after my initial orders, he reviewed them, and told me that they were terrible and that I should not have ever signed them. It was a very difficult thing to hear, but it was the truth. His honesty, and being straight with me from the start is why I hired him and would never work with anyone else. He has never sugar coated anything and has always been very direct. From the very beginning he offered what options I had and the possible risks involved in each scenario. He makes suggestions and recommendations, but always listens and will help you think straight when your emotions run high. He doesn't waste your time, but communicates efficiently what needs to be done and why. During litigation, I couldn't have asked for better representation, and so here I am, years later, going to him again because I honestly couldn't ask for a better person to be on my side. I respect him not only as a lawyer, but as a person. I feel that he holds his own morals and ethics to the highest standards and it really shows through his work. I would highly recommend Mr. Carrasco to anyone who needs to see their case for what it is. He will tell you the hard truths, he will be honest and will be there to represent you.

Ben Carrasco is my go to for family law referrals. He's highly educated, hard-working, and genuinely cares about his clients. He also communicates in a direct manner and does not beat around the bush because he is a transparent and honest person. I was faced with an unexpected divorce after trying t o work it out with the wife without getting the lawyers involved. Mr. Carrasco is Very knowledgeable with family law and his experience was needed & very much appreciated in our court appearance for the "Standing orders" during the process. He cares about his clients and doesn't hold back while defending some accusations while maintaining 100% professionalism. It took me awhile to put this review together, mainly because I don’t even know where to start. I have retained maybe 8 lawyers in my life, mostly for family law cases involving my youngest son, but also for real estate law cases. And Ben Carrasco is flat out THE BEST lawyer I’ve ever hired for anything. Hands down, no contest! I have three children, two older boys from a prior marriage, and my youngest son. I had joint 50-50 custody of the older boys in Austin when I lived there for 15 years, so I knew how smoothly a child-centered custody agreement with meaningful, effective co-parenting could work. But unfortunately, I’ve never had that kind of co-parenting relationship with my youngest child’s mom, someone I was never married to. She and I split when he was a year old and her first legal move was to sue me to try to get 100% custody, which didn’t fly with the first judge we had, so I ended up being the non-custodial parent with an expanded standard schedule. She sued yet again when he was eight years old, trying to get me reduced to two weekends (4 days) a month with my son, but an excellent guardian ad litem helped me/us be able to preserve the expanded standard arrangement (about 10 days a month). I’m a professor and unfortunately, I did not get tenure at UT so after several years of being woefully underemployed in Austin in order to be there for my kids, I decided I had to continue my academic career wherever that might take me. By that time, my two older boys were finishing high school so I made the tough decision to take a great academic job in my home state of California. My now 11-year old son begged his mom and me to let him move out with me, but she declined to entertain the idea and used the threat of the expert testimony of a biased and entrenched (8 years!) hire-a-shrink to basically keep me from seeking custody, the same therapist the GAL had recommended be dropped 4 years earlier because of her unethical meddling in our custody arrangement over the years. So, we waited and my son was steadfast in speaking his truth for the three intervening years: he wanted to live with his dad – full stop. He let mom know this, me, his therapist, everyone. So, finally as he was turning 14 and preparing to enter high school, I decided to file my first ever custody lawsuit. I was nervous because I knew the therapist was mom’s shield, but my son confronted me when he was with me over Christmas in 2021: “How will we know if you never even try!” So, we went for it with Ben. We had a 2-day trial in August, 2022 and it was clear by lunch of the first day that the judge was seeing through the BS being presented by opposing counsel. We won in a landslide!! Ben’s performance in the courtroom made opposing counsel look like an amateur. He has a fantastic legal mind and an attention to detail that I haven’t experienced with previous attorneys. Finally, my son could be heard and seen after so persistently stating his clear desire over many years. Two weeks after the trial, my son moved out to California, where he now is a freshman in high school and thriving. I even think his relationship with his mom has improved because he now longer feels trapped by her. Ben Carrasco was simply a life-changer for us. His fees are reasonable and he doesn’t overcharge. He has a brilliant legal mind and is a bulldog in court. THANK YOU Ben!!!
