I had an extremely negative and traumatizing experience with the attorney from this firm. I never saw my daughter again, after she aged out of the court she contacted me and wants nothing to do with the courts. I was blocked from my parental rights, she didn't follow or know the important details of the past orders, she refused to report abuse stating she was not a mandated reporter, she released my confidentiality to a board I was affiliated with, she had no knowledge to my understanding of the criteria of Domestic Violence and criminal laws associated with severe parental alienation but conducted expert advertising, she quit before my hearing with no referral, no hope, she profited off of my trauma. I have since created trainings and assessment materials to identify and help stop abuse in the family law systems. In my case, this attorney broke the oath to do not harm. Shame on you Just Law.

My experience with Just Law was one that I would not recommend to anyone. When I initially spoke with my attorney, Joanie Low, she was very confident in the benefits of this office and to my detriment, I believed her. Once my retainer was paid, the care of my case dramatically decreased. Emails and phone calls were limited then not responded to at all. Incorrect names filed in court documents and caught by me with no communication as too if these errors were fixed and correctly filed after the fact. I never felt like I got a clear answer or understood what was going on with my case. Once my protected address was released, to my abuser, my children and I’s safety was at risk. I knew I needed to switch attorneys, as my trust in Just Law was shattered and irreparable harm had been caused. I emailed my attorney and her team expressing my disappointment and hoped they would take the concern seriously. Just as my case, it was dismissed and my lack of legal knowledge was attempted to be used against me. Upon informing Just Law and Joanie Low that they would no longer be representing me, they sent me copies of all of my documents and invoices showing charges for documents that were never discussed with me. Not only did this file contain my documents but the documents of another client which leaves the question: “Have my documents been released to strangers?” I would never and will never recommend this office.

I am writing this review as a public service announcement. Please do NOT hire this attorney, particularly if you have children involved in your divorce case. Laura puts her own interests and the interests of her opposing counsel before your own. I will not go in to much detail, because I care not to air dirty laundry on the internet, so I will stick to financials and very basic details. In three months time, Laura charged me approximatey $5,500 , and did not attend a single hearing for me. She would take emails that I sent to her, redact one or two lines, forward them to the opposing counsel, and then charge me hundreds of dollars for it. Her office could not provide receipts or an invoice for a private investigator that she supposedly hired, which I requested for the safety and benefit of my children. Do NOT be fooled by her high online ratings and the fact that she is a former guardian ad litem. On the contrary, the fact that she was ever a GAL is quite disturbing, given how she treated the interests of my children in my case. I implore you...do...not...hire...her. I provided her with written evidence from my ex's journaling that she (my ex) would get drunk while watching our toddler and infant children alone when I was at work. Her response to me was that "sometimes people behave like that when they are in bad relationships". Need I say more? Stay far away from this attorney if you care at all for your children. They dont deserve one star, I threw away $8,000. To have my childrens summer ruined & since then. Im horrified they gave me a lawyer named Joanie Low, she spoke to me very little before court, asked me for all the wrong evidence, I sent her everything she asked for more then enough to burry my ex. I asked to meet with her many times so we could discus the case etc I never heard back from her, the day before court my husband called her she spoke to us an hour seamed like she was going to go litigate but When we arrived at court she went in to talk with the ex & his lawyer & totally turned on me & sided with my ex, she refused to litigate & abused me without ever asking me what I had to rebut their supposed evidence. She yelled at me & told me that im not always right, no not always but i am right about this. She caved to them & did not fight for my kids & I at all, rather then get me as much summer time with my kids as she could she yelled at me & told me to go with my husband to Wisconsin, all I wanted to do is be with my kids not my husband & this was used against me later, she never wrote up the final documents to turn into the court, she never gave them various other documents that were court ordered that also went against me, I asked her how we were going to proceed to fix all the lies he’s filled she yelled at me & told me shes doing nothing for me & that she would fire me if i asked her to do what i had hired her for. She abused me, my step daughter & her aid saw it all, an additional very strange thing she did was she kept looking at my neck all paranoid, later she asked me if i was wearing a wire? I was like what? Your talking about me blue tooth headphones? Why was she so worried I was wearing a wire? Because shes an abuser, who sided with my abuser ex, did not do her job at all. I hired this law firm who supposedly support women’s rights, its a lie they do not, im really good mom & my kids love me so much & I them, I needed help as I have cptsd & depression from 20 years of psychological abuse I’ve been put through by my ex & all this woman did was add to my abuse & trama. I was shocked & paralyzed, all I could do was cry & sleep for weeks & have not been able to function well since July because of this horrible thief woman’s abuse. I should have written this sooner but i could not an am barely able to now. I fired her & they only gave me $2,000 back how did she use up $6,000 dollars to do nothing for me? Never speak to me? Never write up the documents she was supposed to? Etc, shes a liar thats how. I had to show up in court alone in August petrified to litigate on my own behalf. I accomplished more for my self for free then she did for $6,000 dollars, however because of her inability to do anything for me in July, im now punished twice for the same “crime” that I in fact did not commit, to this day my psychopath ex has control of my baby’s & is hurting them so badly & these people do not care. My ex is the one who has done to me what he is accusing me of doing to him but Joanie refused to do anything to present this to the court & fight for me, she refused to stand up in court for me & just caved to them, believed them & abused me over their lies. This is last time I hire women to represent me, my ex’s man lawyer stands up with vigor for his clients lies & this horrible woman cant do that for my truth? Charging $450 an hr for trash, She’s an abuser thief. Criminals stealing from desperate to save their kids moms.
