After a poor experience at a previous law firm I was hopeful that Ascent Law would be capable of representing me in family law and divorce matters. They were quick to take my retainer but slow to respond to any form of communication. Knowing how important my case was to me, my kids and my future, I spent many many hours finding and providing evidence to support my positions and show my ex-husband's contempt of our divorce decree. With all of this information at my attorney, Tulsi Patel's, fingertips it became very clear that my case wasn't a priority in her overloaded casefile. What should have been a 2-3 hour mediation turned into over 10 hours of stipulating to things that don't matter and that my ex was flat out lying about. It was clear she still wasn't prepared for the hearing that followed a few days later. None of the evidence or exhibits I provided were referenced or even introduced into court. The opposing counsel decimated her in her "arguments" with nothing more than conjecture, assumptions, and partial truths that could have been shut down if she had simply known the facts and presented the evidence. She was not familiar with my case or at least could not bring the information to bear at the critical moments. I raised my complaints and concerns to Michael Anderson and his solution to this debacle was to reduce my $8,000 bill by $1,000, as if that amount is somehow representative of my time and effort, and their incompetence. The amount of money I spent for the quality of representation I received is mind-blowing. But I'm even more disappointed that I spent that much money to get nowhere in a motion that "I" brought against my ex for "his" failure to comply. I would in no way recommend Ascent Law in any kind of legal representation.

We reached out to Ryan Simpson and Tod Gibeaux to assist us with a garnishment and to begin a bankruptcy as soon as possible. They were quick to jump in and take our case! Paid them a $1000 consulting fee to look into a real estate disclosure case for me that would have resulted in representation in a small claims court case. Mikes assistant Tim told me the cost of litigation would be around $2400. As soon as I paid them the fee, communication with me regarding my case completely stops. Over the course of six months I have to call them several times to get any sort of update on where we are on moving forward, I don't receive any of the emails they claim they sent after speaking with them, and six months after I pay them the lawyer tells me the retainer to represent me in a SMALL CLAIMS CASE is going to be $7500 dollars. THREE TIMES what they told me it was going to be before I paid them. So now I've wasted six months AND I'm down another thousand bucks after dealing with these guys. I wholly regret my decision to do business with this firm.
