Omitting information is lying and not morally ethical. That’s just a personal opinion. I feel as though mine and my children’s privacies were invaded for the sake of a buck. The same amount of time and effort it took to explain to me over a 20 minute phone call the reasons for not proceeding with my case could have been conveyed at the beginning. For example: ‘I was not made aware that if my case had to go to trial, witnesses, such as doctors, will have to be paid in order to appear in court and that could be costly.’ I was only informed that if my case was to go to trial, I would need to make a deposit of $300 to offset the costs. And even that was only shared while my case was being reviewed. At the original consultation, the only fees conveyed to me were the offset cost made to obtain my records. Be mindful that I have never been in an accident so I am unaware of any process or procedures, therefore I am uncertain of which questions to even ask. The choice to decide whether or not it would be wise to proceed was taken away from me at the expense of sharing personal information. I am an extremely private person so I felt violated given the medical information I was asked to share in order for them to assess everything leading up to and during the process, but had nothing to do with the incident. It’s one things to be optimistic but it’s another not to cover all basis during the initial intake. And the explanation given as to why this critical information wasn’t conveyed in the beginning was that it would have taken a long time to break down the costs of a trial when in all actually it all could have been explained in the same manner it was explained over the 20 minute phone call when I was informed they wouldn’t be moving forward with my case and it would have been understood. Business is business I guess. I understand it from a business standpoint but don’t make it seem as though you’re helping or protecting vulnerable people when there is a possibility you may not even take on their case if it seems to be costly, and the firm is likely not going to benefit from it. That’s the real truth. I gave an additional star because apart from that, they remained in constant communication throughout the months they ‘worked’ on my case. If I wasn’t charged for those months it’s because you all were being nosy - I really would have preferred not to share such personal information. Didn’t seem as though I had a case requiring representation in order to receive payouts. I was somewhat aware of this from being dropped by a previous firm. I just wish this firm would have handled things differently at my most vulnerable, and not taken away my choices. These are informations I wouldn’t normally share with strangers. And then they made it seem as though I should be grateful they didn’t charge me for their time. I am just glad I could bring some excitement to your job (sarcasm). Update: What do I look like posting a public review filled with emotions? This is my perspective and my truth. There’s no lie here! But thanks for the explanation and case citing. Weak argument… I’ll leave the rest at the judgement of public opinion.
