Mr. Dannenbaum's office is incompetent (or purposefully make mistakes so they can bill you when the should be fixing them). Thanks to his firm, I get half the child support my ex and I agreed to because his office omitted that there were to be two payments per month. The purpose of having an attorney is so they can take care of the final details while the client is emotional. I did not have a good experience. I have expressed this before with no response. If I had known more at the time this happened, I would have filed an ethics complaint against him.

My experience with Mr. Dannenbaum was a good one, overall. He was exceedingly professional, knowledgeable and competent, a good listener, and shared the benefits of his experience freely. Indeed, in hindsight I wish I had followed his advice a little more strictly in the early going of my divorce case, as it likely would have saved me some annoyance and inconvenience. Ultimately, I came away with about the best arrangement I could have asked for, in large part as a result of Dan's efforts. It was a trying period, as one might imagine, especially with young children involved, but Dan was supportive and reassuringly even-tempered throughout. Minor quibbles, for which I might have deducted half a star had I been able: As largely a "one-man band" (at least at the time I was working with him), it occasionally was a challenge to get in contact with him, but he was reliable about following up in fairly short order. His fees are in line with the industry, which is to say "high," which becomes an especially serious challenge when one is paying Fairfax's very high "temporary" support payments as well as 100% of the expenses on the family home and for the family's insurance and medical expenses. This is more a critique of the family law sector: I think an excellent consumer-friendly innovation would be an arrangement between attorneys and larger banks to provide short-term credit to people with decent income who are embroiled in the early stages of a divorce case. With some element of shared risk between the attorney and the bank, and with the client paying a reasonable amount of interest, I think all parties could come through the process with less financial and emotional drain without affecting the bottom line of either the attorney or the bank. In sum, I can say honestly that I appreciated working with Dan and received solid legal support from him. Each person must make his or her own decision on selecting legal counsel, but I can recommend the Dannenbaum Law Firm without hesitation or reservation.
