I would like to thank the law firm of Randall and Bruch, for a job well done. The awesome customer service, great professionalism, and communicated with me very well from start to finish. They got me the best outcome I could have expected and I am very pleased with the service they provided. I like to give special thanks to Tracee Williams. You are awesome. This young lady kept me on top of everything that was going on, day and night. Attorney Carol Zacheiss, thank you so much. Lori Stevens, Kimberly Collins, and staff, keep up the great job. I definitely will let my friends, family, and associates know to contact your office if in need of an Attorney.

Pros
1
Highly experienced and skilled attorneys who are successful in getting favorable outcomes for clients, such as getting charges reduced or dismissed
“Jack Randall is the attorney you want in any custody/divorce case. Having children himself, he understands your concerns and empathizes with you. Mr. Randall was well-organized, responsive in emergent situations, and always fought for what I wanted.”
2
Attorneys are caring, compassionate, and go above and beyond for their clients
“What really stood out is how available he made himself to me. There were times throughout this year long crisis that he called me with no updates, just simply to check on me, which meant so very much to me. Mr. Randall truly cared about more than my case and me as another client. Mr. Randall cared about me as a person who needed to move on with their life and be protected as much as possible from a system that is sometimes working very much against you.”
3
Excellent communication and responsiveness from the attorneys and staff, keeping clients informed throughout the process
“Ashley from the team also responded very promptly and keep us up to date with the progress on the case and if anything needed from us.”
4
Affordable and fair pricing for the high-quality legal services provided
“I'm very glad I chose them. Their fee to represent me for a traffic violation was very reasonable compared to two other firms I contacted in the area.”
Cons
1
Some clients had negative experiences with certain attorneys at the firm, such as poor communication, lack of preparation, and unsatisfactory outcomes
“Not a good experience I found them difficult to communicate with. There lack of concern was confusing and the rudeness from the secretary and paralegal was most 🧐 interesting Let's just say he's a Lawyer need U saw Moore.”
2
A few clients felt their cases were not handled with the expected level of care and attention
“My son was represented poorly by Rocco he never returned phone calls from me or my son while my son was in jail. Rushed us to pay him money so he could represent my son only to tell us he had an emergency case somewhere else and didn't show up for my son came to court didn't do any background investigation on my son and let the common wealth talk about my son charges while he stood there like a deer in headlights.”

If you are looking for a traffic attorney any where near Courtland VA I highly recommend Railey and Railey! I got pulled over going over 80mph which means it is a reckless driving ticket. I live 5 hours away from where I got pulled over. After researching many attorneys I decided to go with Railey and Railey. They were terrific! They represented me at court so I did not have to go. My charge was reduced to a non-moving violation, which means no points!!!!!! Highly recommend!!!

Consulted with Mr. Columbus in regards to my speeding ticket that I got the same day. He told me to take a driving course; I opted to take it online instead of a classroom instruction. My original court date was 6/22, but due to unforeseen circumstances, got it continued to 7/27, and he helped me out with that. I gave him the necessary documentation that would help him reinforce my case with the judge. Judge wasn't necessarily the nicest, but Mr. Columbus was able to dismiss the ticket. I personally would recommend Mr. Columbus's services again.

He puts unnecessary items in your case just so he can charge you more to remove them. Doesn't serve the defendant correctly which causes which grants them an extension which you still have to pay the attorney for showing up in court. Just horrible service all around. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere for an attorney that even acts as if they care. Oh, and you will speak to the paralegal 99.5% of the time who will bill you for their errors.

My husband hire Mr. Frank for son custody case. At 1st he seemed to care about my son situation. My son had done everything that he supposed to do when the other party didn't follow the court orders. My son had called Mr. Frank several times for advice. (When the other party had lied on my son in court) Mr. Frank didn't even bother to check into that to make sure if it was true or not. Took him awhile to return all calls. Before the court date, there was some documents were email to my son on what was going to take place before court. The day of court, the two parties (lawyers) were discussing of what to do. At that time, we noticed our son was very UPSET of what was said by his lawyer. To make a long story short, Mr. Frank didn't even FIGHT for my son in his custody for his child. He pretty much WAS GLUED TO HIS SEAT AND DIDN"T DEFEND HIM. We had evidence. (Text message, pictures, videos, show cause) he didn't even bother to bring it up in court. So pretty much WE lost over a GREAT LUMP SUM money of him NOT doing not his job. So now my son is losing time with his daughter/granddaughter life. As a family we were VERY UPSET. And the sad thing about it, Mr. Frank told my son, so I guess you are going to fired me. So that tells us he didn't care if my son didn't win his case. He was ALL ABOUT THE MONEY! And that was wrong. So now we are looking into another lawyer who will do the job and do right by my son.

Hired Mr. Frank for a modification to spousal support. It's been year and to date, Mr. Frank has failed to find out any important information like how much my estranged spouse makes for one, file any motion with court, is not very good at returning phone calls or emails regarding the case or what he has done in regards of said case. And now he is asking to be dismissed from said case. Achieving little to nothing must be exhausting. So its been a total waste of time and finances to get nothing but sand slipping threw your hands. I am sure I will do better just filing the paperwork on my own and going to court by myself. At least I know I can finish what I start and not have wonder how long before I hear back from a MIA attorney. I wish I would have just paid myself for all the work.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Courtland, Virginia?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
