Few months ago I got a reckless driving ticket , I talked five or six lawyers before I decided on Mr.Clingan. it was my first time going to court for anything so I got a free consultation. Mr.Clingan took his time and gave me a very descriptive overview of my legal options , and what he could offer, his rates are very fair, and he doesn’t use fear tactics to get your business. Mr.Clingan is very responsive to texts/calls and he seems like one of the few who genuinely care about their client. I am extremely pleased with his services. I also agree with the other 5 star reviewers he seems to be the best traffic attorney in the area. I’ll be referring him to any family or friends who end up in a similar situation.

I don’t normally write reviews but I’m writing this one because Eric Clingan kept me out of jail and was able to get my case dropped. Right from the start, Eric mapped out a plan to get my case dismissed. He walked me through it and gave me confidence when I thought all was lost. As promised, he subpoenaed all the witnesses I needed and he showed up Fully prepared for a trial. We ended up not even needing all the witnesses because he was able to show the court that the whole thing was a big misunderstanding and I walked out a winner. Thanks Eric!

This past year our son faced a legal issue that required the assistance of an attorney. A friend recommended a lawyer whose fee turned out to be more than we could afford. My son and I found the NoVa Law Firm website online and my son called Eric Clingan. After that conversation my son said "I want Eric" and I was relieved that fee that Eric quoted was less than half the fee of the first attorney we had contacted. Naturally, I was worried that a lawyer that we found "randomly" on the internet and whose fee was lower might not be equally well qualified. That concern turned out to be unfounded. Eric was very knowledgeable and helpful from the start. Our case required multiple requests for continuance and I was afraid that Eric would charge more for these repeated visits to the courthouse, but he assured us that, once we had paid the fee, he would do everything necessary to achieve the best possible outcome for no additional charge. In the end, he was able to achieve a very favorable outcome through his intimate familiarity with the legal process and some quick thinking. We could not be more satisfied with the service that he provided.

Fairfax police are really tough on DUI and they have dash cams that record everything that happens. Just remember that. Eric will demand the video recording and sit down and watch the whole thing with you. When we did that, and compared the video with the police officer's report, Eric found a lot of differences. When we went to court he nailed the cop on every mistake and showed the judge that I was not intoxicated. Nothing sounds better than "Not Guilty" I swear! Everything Eric said he said he would do, he did, and then some. Bottom line: My case was dismissed and I owe it all to Eric.

I had a DUI Show Cause to return to court. Mr. Clingan did an amazing job & stopped nonsense & hearsay evidence to be allowed. My case was dismissed.

He was extremely professional, to-the-point, yet patient to explain all my options to me. Together, we won a DUI case, and the charge was thrown out (and my record expunged). Actually, WE didn't win it, he won it with grace and skill. I had never been inside a courtroom, but his intelligence and eloquence and strategic thinking shone during trial.

I can't thank Eric Clingan enough for what he has done for me, it was my word against another's, and the ticket was issued in my name, due to the state of shock I was after the accident, police didn't even bother to investigate the case or corroborate the information. I shopped around a bit before deciding to go with Mr. Clingan as my lawyer for a DUI charge in Fairfax County. His clear explanation of how he would approach my defense won me over. We went to trial, which ended up lasting a few hours. Eric's attention to detail and his knowledge of the law were incredible. He cross examined the police office, found inconsistencies in the police report, and at one point even had the police officer confess that he had already made up his mind to arrest me before administering me the sobriety tests and breathalyzer! Mr. Clingan was full of surprises, each one seriously undermining in the state's case against me. I had never been in a courtroom before, but my trial seemed right out of the movies. Maybe I sound over the top, but I was so happy and relieved to have my DUI charge thrown out - saving thousands of dollars, not to mention the police record, and the hassle of losing my license (or having my driving restricted) for one year. What's more, I saw a very similar case tried before me, and - even though the other attorney seemed professional and tried his best to save his client - the defendant was still convicted. Mr. Clingan was a different story, and I am so glad I chose him to represent me.

I received many flyers after my arrest, but his spoke to my simple need to win my case. For my consultation he listened to my story once and then repeated it all back to me showing a thorough grasp. I was impressed. Communicating with him was very efficient. We went over the process and the pricing. I knew I wanted to hire him but I waited a week and also talked to a lawyer friend. His location was also ideal for me. One initial bit of value after hiring him was that he went to the court for my initial appearance without me. Leading up to the court date we didn't talk much but he was available at short notice the one time I requested, and he did not need to waste much time recalling the details of my case. There were some strategic options in my defense which I was not sure about. He had a very reasonable way of discussing our options. We didn't decide on some key strategy points until just before we went into the courtroom and that turned out fine. I felt going in that I wasn't going to win because certain factors were lining up against me, but I was resolved that accepting the plea bargain would be too unjust. We did win and I was very satisfied that he made a couple of moves that helped get the decision in my favor, and provided me with key coaching.
