Mr. Trichilo assisted me in a workers' comp case. I feel he and his assistant went above and beyond to achieve the best outcome for me. They both were very considerate of my needs during what proved to be a very difficult and stressful situation. I would highly recommend his services.

Mr. Trichilo went above and beyond to help my husband and myself with his very challenging case. When we first contacted Mr. Trichilo my husbands case had been denied by the insurance company and he was able to have a Full Commission reverse the ruling. Because of that My husband received a substantial lump sum payment and MSA approved annuity to make sure all future medical needs are taken care of. Because of my husbands very serious injuries I was the main contact with Mr. Trichilo and He helped me so very much and made me feel like everything would be ok and he told me to take care of myself and my husband and he would take care of everything else. We are very thankful for everything he did for us!

This was our first case and involvement with any attorney and we couldn’t be more pleased with our overall experience and outcome. We called and interviewed multiple attorneys when first deciding to hire a lawyer. Mr. Trichilo was the only one that told us what to expect and sent us the needed forms and engagement letter. He even followed up and asked if he could answer any questions. Mr. Trichilo appears to be a gentle and soft spoken man when you first meet him. When it came time to go toe-to-toe with the big insurance company, we felt that we had the bigger dog in the fight! He was professional, organized and thorough in every aspect of our Workers Comp case. He managed our expectations and in the end we received more than we ever expected. If you need an attorney, look no further and give Benjamin Trichilo a call.

Dear Mr. Trichilo, I would like to take this opportunity to express my extreme gratitude and appreciation for all your hard work and relentless effort and persistence in pursuing a positive outcome in my legal battle. It was one of the hardest and most emotional situations I have ever been in, and I felt throughout the process you went over and beyond the call of duty to resolve the matter as quickly and fairly as possible. Your confidence and assurance helped me tremendously in coping with the process, yet you were always truthful and forthright. I was always kept in the loop and was educated and informed throughout the lawsuit. Your patience and professionalism were impressive, but your sincere caring and concern were what really set you apart from most attorneys. You couldn’t have been more thorough and accurate, especially since this was complicated and complex in that you had to deal with. Overall, you are truly an anomaly and I will be forever grateful to you. Though I hope no one has to go through what I went through, I will certainly highly recommend you and your law firm if anyone is looking for a top firm.

Ben went above and beyond for me. I had a pretty bad injury and I had never been through anything like this before and he was always there to answer any questions or concerns we had through all of this. When you go through what went through it gets to be a little overwhelming but he was always there to talk me through every step of this process. I always felt like I was his only case (I know I wasn't) but he did anything for me and figure out what we needed to move forward. He had the best team working for me also!!!!

John is an exceptional attorney who completely exceeded all of my expectations. He is very personable and was attentive to all of my emails, questions and concerns. He fought diligently for me and gave me the absolute best outcome possible in a court room. At no point did I feel like just another client. I had a fantastic experience with John and he would hands down be the very first attorney that I would recommend to anyone seeking counsel.

I had the privilege of working with Alex being Alex's client on a matter spanning several years of repeated litigation, all of which we won with Alex's great help. As an attorney myself, I particularly appreciated Alex's willingness to consider my input. Unlike many professionals, Alex does not give orders. He listens, tries to put himself in the client's shoes, then, applying his expertise, presents available options, so the client can understand them and make informed decisions. Alex's uniquely broad experience as a judge's clerk, big firm associate and family law attorney has given him a rare wealth of perspectives to draw from to handle each client, matter and situation he encounters. I give him my highest recommendation and would work consider myself fortunate to work with him again.

Mr. Lewis handled my case diligently, he was attentive and most of all kind. He answered all my questions promptly, he didn’t sugar coat anything, but he fought for me to the best of his ability. We won, what seemed like an impossible task became possible and my gratitude is extended to him and his firm. His paralegal Danielle is also attentive and kind. Everyone in the office is professional. If you need a lawyer he is your man, you will be happy you hired him. They are also very organized which makes it all easy. Overall an amazing firm!!! Thank you Alex Lewis

I was interested to find the firm is all young female lawyers. I gave them a chance and was pleased with the result. I was assigned Jesci Norrington, which was excellent for the job. Jesci wrote an new will for me and found that my home deed needed updating of dual ownership and added survivor clauses to protect either my wife or me. This was all done quickly and looked great, at a reasonable fee. I am well pleased and am spreading the word. Thanks.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Fairfax, Virginia?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
