The best decision I ever made! Jim Livesay is the BEST military divorce attorney in the area. His knowledge and expertise on crucial issues in a military divorce surpasses all others. His foresight in preparing my divorce documents protected me when DFAS requested a Clarifying Order from the courts regarding my portion of the military retirement in which I was awarded in my Divorce Decree. Unaware that my ex-husband could claim disability once he retires and this would lower the amount I would receive from the retirement pay, he included language that guards against such action occurring. My former spouse and I are friends and he informed me the other day he will be filing for Disability soon and wanted me to be aware of it. I will take my documentation back to Jim Livesay to make sure DFAS is handling my portion of retired pay according to my Divorce Decree. I appreciate Jim protecting my interests and this allows me to continue receiving the same portion even after my former spouse files disability. I began my proceedings with a military attorney.
