Mr. Phillips is an amazingly competent, intelligent and experienced defense attorney - thorough, extremely knowledgeable, well-connected, a skilled plea-bargain negotiator. He can handle complexity with ease, while remaining compassionate and patient, endeavoring to fully explain matters to his clients and understanding the stress that criminal charges bring to their lives. While I hope to never need his services again, I wouldn’t hesitate to retain him or recommend him on any matter for which he could provide effective assistance.

I spoke with several attorneys due to a false allegations which could have jeopardized my job and livelihood. Jonathan is one of the best attorneys. He is highly intelligent and knowledgeable. After a brief conversation, he quickly understood my situation and pointed out the most important parts and provided the best resolution. A St Patrick's Day night out on the town landed me in some new digs also known as the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center. After saying my goodbyes to the arresting officer, intox breathilizer that I made out with twice at the station, booking sherrif, In house photographer, guy that frisked and got fairly personal (I didn't even get his name), nurse who was really interested in how much I weighed, sweet lady who offered me a brown bag lunch, magistrates (plural - one going in, one going out), 20 of my new best friends that I had just met and realized we all had common ground, uber driver, and tow truck driver, I looked high and low for an attorney. I needed one. Much like many in this area, this incident could affect my employment and livelyhood. I contacted several lawyers not knowing whether they were good, bad, or just average. Then I contacted Jonathan Phillips. He was professional and took a good amount of time to discuss my traumatic experience and was a straight shooter with what I was up against. I liked that he was a former Fairfax County prosecutor, and knew not only the "system" but also the people. Then, before I had even put a retainer down, Mr. Phillips showed up to my arraignment to see if I had any additional questions. That's was what I needed to know that he cared about my case, and knew I had found my attorney. Now that I think about it, Mr. Phillips was the only attorney who followed up with me, and that says something to me. Throughout the whole process of my case, Mr. Phillips and/or his assistant answered all my questions timely. When push came to shove, he was willing to go to trail, but was able to negotiate the charge down to a simple traffic citation. I know each case is different according to the circumstance surrounding it, but I have full faith in Jonathan no matter what It is. I can't recommend him enough - call him. You have nothing to lose and everything to gain.
