I came to Livesay & Myers during a time of high distress. I honestly did not want to file for divorce but Matthew Smith, in his patience, worked out a Marital Settlement Agreement on my behalf. It was a drawn out process, but Matthew Smith and his paralegal Caitlin Wilkinson was always there with clear and concise legal advice. Something that I never expected from the legal profession was compassion and was more than surprised to find it in both Matt and Caitlin. They were always timely but most of all realistic and explained the fine language of a settlement. I cannot thank them enough for the hard work and compassion.

The dissolution of marriage with someone that you loved or still love can be extremely difficult for anyone no matter what the rational. Each party can go through a multitude of feelings across the spectrum of human emotion. My separation was under good terms, as good as it could be under the circumstances, but there was still that feeling of loss of a partner. You don't ever go into marriage thinking about divorce. Mr. Simms was referred to me from a family friend. I called him with what I deemed an emergency situation, and within an hour of the phone call, we had an appointment to meet. After our initial meeting, I knew this was the man I wanted for my family situation. He knows the law and explains it to you so you understand all of the options available. He and Lindsay were very timely in answering my questions and returning emails/phone calls regarding the case. so, ive hired brent twice now, both times resulted in the cases going in my favor, hes a great lawyer and a nice guy to be around and very sympathetic. only thing i can complain about is location, im in alexandria, guy lives near fairoaks, but i make the trip cause i know its worth it.
