I hired Robert Miller to handle my divorce. He was completely incompetent. He deliberately misinformed me that I did not need my doctors to testify about my chronic disabling health conditions. I told him emphatically that my doctors would testify if needed and his response was, “no we will not need that, your medical records will be suffice”. I have that email. So I provided all medical records which were certified and authenticated. At trial the judge would not allow the majority of them and as a result imputed income to me. Keep in mind my ex husband showed in documents that he earned $50,000 per month. I was the sole caretaker of our child while dealing with all sorts of health issues. Robert never gave the opposing parties vocational expert any of my medical records, which he should have. I relied on his legal expertise and he deliberately failed to inform me of what was really required. He also conspired with opposing counsel to dwindle down my spousal support arrearages. I have that email as well since she sent it to me showing their conversation. He also allowed opposing counsel to ambush me during trial and never objected which he should have. Instead he engaged in it. He never objected to all of their exhibits except for one while allowing them to object to all of our exhibits. I had to insist on a filing a motion to require my ex husband to comply with discovery because Robert was turning a blind eye to him not providing retirement documents. Robert sat in Court yawning while opposing counsel lied about me and humiliating me in court as I was in tears. She actually asked me how many times had I visited my Moms grave knowing how upsetting that would be. They all knew how close I was to her and I cared for her while she was dying of cancer. Robert was relentless in trying to have me agree to stipulations that essentially robbed me of any retirement. I was paying him to protect me and he did just the opposite. I had to push for a Motion to Reconsider because he never even brought that up as an option after the opinion letter was released. I would give him information to help our case and afterwards the other side would combat that which hurt our case. I knew at that point he was stabbing me in the back and helping the other side. I fired him. Then at the final hearing when the court entered the divorce decree, opposing counsel stated in court that Robert Miller said he would be willing to testify against me about the arrearage amount. Really?? He was throwing his own client under the bus. The judge agreed more so with my numbers for the spousal support arrearages. Basically, Robert was colluding with the other side. I am an older, disabled single Mom on food stamps with nothing and this guy did this to me. Then his firm promotes him to Partner. He needs to be exposed and sanctioned. Everyone has told me to sue him and report him to the Bar however, I’ve been told that they are all friends and it is highly unlikely the Bar would do anything. But I may have to at least give them that chance. I have emails and other documentation to prove what I’m alleging. Then I see this phony video of him talking about what a family man he is and how he fights for his clients. Really??!! He sure didn’t fight for me and I’m destitute as a result. So no money for even food or gas much less anything else while my ex husband is worth millions and earns $50,000 per month. He must have been paid off by my ex or promised a big promotion, which he got!! So disgusting this happens in that judicial system in central Virginia. It’s all scammed out. So if you’re a single Mom with no money and your going up against a wealthy husband, I suggest you do not hire this guy and you should file your divorce in northern Virginia or other area where they actually apply the written law. I will make sure that the most powerful people in the legal system will be made aware of this case and the unethical conduct that transpired. They will have the final say.
