I retained Sara to do a pre-nump for me. She completed the document very quickly, as I was getting married in about a month. She was very knowledgeable on the topics and listened to all my concerns and how to incorporate them into the pre-nump. I would highly recommend Sara.

During an unfortunately very antagonistic and adversarial divorce and custody matter, Ms. Schuler was a steady, knowledgeable, and strong advocate, especially for the children. Her knowledge of the law and advocacy for my position and for the best outcome for my children made an enormous difference during a very frustrating, and sometimes overwhelming, legal process. Going through divorce is something I never imagined doing. I fought long and hard not to, but when it became clear there was no other choice, I was faced with the dizzying choice of finding a lawyer. I had tried mediation, which failed, and feared choosing a lawyer could quickly take me down the path of a messy, antagonistic and expensive divorce. I found Sara through a referral, and it was quickly clear that she was someone who would look out for my interests, but also advise me effectively how to proceed. I wanted to be certain my needs were reasonable and warranted, and I wanted to do my very best to find an equitable settlement. Sara responded quickly to every e-mail using clear and concise language I could understand. She even responded over a weekend at one point when a particular response that had been slow in coming was hard to take. Her advice on how to resolve the situation was spot on, and she was very effective in dealing with the other lawyer involved. Sara's knowledge of the law was spot on, and her contacts and reach to related professionals were extensive and very helpful. Mrs. Schuler is an excellent attorney who wins her cases. She has a deep knowledge of the Arlington County court system and helped me through and successfully ended and won my extremely difficult divorce case. After winning numerous legal complaints 100% from the opposition, Mrs. Schuler was able to push through the divorce in a creative and swift way after much contention. The Judge was literally happy to sign my decree for divorce at the end thanks to Mrs. Schuler's efforts. I recommend her absolutely for anyone considering separation or divorce in Arlington County, VA. You can't go wrong!

Besides lacking courtesy, her advice is questionable at best and her responsiveness is non-existence. For example, she failed to inform me of the outcome of a significant hearing in my case for several months , and then only after I persisted. I was never able to establish any rapport and did not like her manner at all. She often made unilateral decisions without consulting or informing me. I did not get the feeling she was very interested in my case or in law in general for that matter but was simply going through the motions until she could pawn me off on the new guy in the firm. I had the impression she didn't spend much time on my case, or that she had a solid understanding of the issues and a firm grounding in the field. She then pawned me off on another guy who I also reviewed on here (probably to harshly considering he did very little of the work on my case). Maybe it was a bad fit with him, a high powered corporate litigator doing family law stuff, which would be as much his current firm's fault as his. In any case, if you are looking for a responsive, collaborative, and 'empathetic' attorney with any follow through; beware, This attorney is not the attorney for you.
