If you are going through a divorce, I recommend staying away from Sean Kelly at Kelly, Byrnes, Danker & Luu. In my opinion, I believe he failed to present the treasure trove of evidence I had that I felt refuted the opposing party’s case; he was not technically savvy which limited his abilities, and in my experience he relied too heavily on his paralegal. Based on my communications and experience with him as well as his performance at trial, in my opinion it seemed like the majority of his preparation for my case was done just before trial. With that said, he did a great job with testimony at the trial but not to a degree that it could overcome what I perceived as a lack of preparation and understanding of the evidence. His strategy was to be passive, not assertive. That strategy worked well during discovery, but not during trial. He has been doing this for a long time and appears to be desensitized to the people involved and the negative impact he is having on real lives. He did not care about my case. His favorite go to line was that he was busy working other cases. Notice how few reviews there are for Sean Kelly. I ended up getting a new attorney right after my trial.

Ms. Shirley Chim was the constant professional and always had my best interest in mind. Time was never wasted, and I always felt like the appropriate level of resources were committed to my case. I hired Ms. Chim to handle address me and my family's needs and am happy to say that I made an excellent choice.

Divorce is one of the most traumatic experiences a person can face . To spend your entire adult life age 19 to 60 as a devoted , faithful wife and mom only to be thrown away for a younger woman is devastating to say the least . My friend recommended Ms. Shirley Chim as my divorce lawyer. She is very professional and caring at the same time. I wish I could retain her sooner. My divorce case is kind messy but Shirley keep my head clear and gave me very good advice and very fast response to my phone calls and emails. She negotiated the maximum benefits for me and my daughter. By far THE BEST lawyers/attorneys I have ever worked with. I've worked with Stephanie Duran on a lengthy and extremely contentious child custody case and a child support case. And both times she was incredible!!! Even when I was stressed and emotional, she was always empathetic and professional. Be very careful if your seeking custody as a 3rd party, stipulations to mandate the use of a car seat and child school records disclosures to both parents should be included and thought out to be entered into the Custody Order. Make sure the Custody order has written in the first point of contact in an emergency and child care provider. Hire an attorney that will fight for 3rd party custody whole heartedly. Not all lawyers will put up a strong fight.
