I am very fortunate to have hired Sarah, worth every penny and thoroughly professional. I had a very difficult divorce with a very adversarial ex. Without Sarah, it would have been a nightmare. Sarah always had outstanding preparation, very sage advice, avoided unnecessary confrontation and expense, but still was tough when necessary. Sarah does this all while maintaining professionalism and class. You will be proud to have her represent you.

I had a messy divorce, I went through two other attorneys and then found Sarah. I am a lawyer, but when you are on the other side it is all different. Sarah made the process so much easier than my other lawyers. Sarah was tough and smart and ultimately succeeded in getting a better result that I could have imagined. Divorce is expensive, but Sarah was with every penny. It's hard to decide who to hire but if you pick Sarah you will not be disappointed. (I hate filling out reviews, but Sarah was so exceptional - I made a special effort to write this review.) Thank you Sarah!

The best word to describe Sarah is prepared! I listened to her advice at every turn and my alimony case was handled with grace and a command of the court room! Please dont hesitate or wonder if you should hire her, she is worth every penny! Sarah was so well organized and ready for trail that I had a calm come over me that I cant explain. Just listen to her and ask questions if you have any concerns. If I ever have another issue I would hire Sarah in a second. Amazing, Amazing, Amazing! Thanks to Sarah I get a chance to rebuild and enjoy life!!!! My out come was better than I ever imagined, almost unbelievable!!!

Sarah is amazing. My ex and I wanted to avoid court, and Sarah knew this. When you're going through a divorce, there's hurt everywhere. While she proceeded with what I wanted, she was the emotional and financial push to ensure I received everything I was entitled to. At one point, I saw my ex cry over how we were dividing things up, and it was almost my undoing. She asked a hard question: Was he more upset about the money or the divorce? Even if you don't think you need a lawyer, you DO. My ex and I were amicable enough that we could sit with a divorce financial planner in a room together without our lawyers, but I was WELL prepared by Sarah that I could advocate for myself, but without her, I would have been screwed big time. She asked me to justify certain expenses in my projected budget (I could), and kept my business part of the divorce in line so I could just focus on healing. She's able to be your sole advocate so you can carry on with your life after divorce. There are things I would do differently going through my divorce if I could have a do-over, but hiring Sarah wasn't one of them. I'd use her again in a minute.

I cannot recommend the ShounBach law firm in Fairfax County, Va. strongly enough, especially Sarah Knapp. As a reporter for The Washington Post who covered the Justice Department for years, I frequently deal with attorneys. Doing so as a client was a new experience, but Sarah made it as smooth as humanly possible. Amid the stress that comes with any divorce, she navigated the troubled waters like the pro she is, with unerring calm, smart and decisive judgement and solid advice about the pitfalls ahead. She was highly professional but applied just enough of a personal touch to always keep things calm and focused. The fact that she is a mother herself was immensely helpful: she always put my children first and encouraged me to do the same. And she reinforced my own instincts, which were to always do the right thing, while still protecting myself legally. With her expert guidance, I emerged happy, healthy and grateful to have the chance to move ahead with my life, both personally and professionally.
