I have known Karin (and her husband) many years through sailing when they were still engaged. Karin has always been kind, thoughtful and generous to everyone around her. She had helped me to prepare a new 30 years old boat in the boat yard. The Porters helped me bringing the boat back to home port successfully after a 150 miles challenging journey and then captured a major regatta trophy the week after. Since then we have captured many trophies in many regattas. Over the years, I have the privilege of seeing them advance in nautical knowledge, enjoyed the sport of sailing and most of all as trusted friends on and off the water. Karin Porter represented me when I had been cited for reckless driving after failing to stop for a traffic signal. The incident occurred late at night after I had become lost while trying to get to my hotel following a late air arrival. I really thought she was a good attorney. Since I was visiting from out of state, she arranged to appear in court for me and she persuaded the judge to change my offense to failure to stop vice reckless driving. Amazing! I’m the worst and I got a reckless 3 years ago that was knocked down to speeding. Also have a couple traffic infractions on my record. Fast forward to 2020, 2 months ago I got another reckless (speeding to the doctors office b/c of a weird rash that turned out to just be razor burn 😬). So of course I also procrastinated and got a lawyer the week of the court date. Steve was very reassuring and his law firm completely calmed my nerves.
