HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Jessica and her team were a great resource for our estate planning needs and helped us build a plan that gives us the comfort that all our wishes and family needs will be met should anything happen to my husband and I, or one of us for that matter. The team was extremely responsive and very professional. Jessica is very knowledgeable and made it easy for us to understand her recommendations. Legal language can be quite confusing, but she took the time to walk us through all pages of our plans and explain clearly how everything would work. She also recommended professionals to help us implement our estate plan, which made the process even more seamless.

About a year ago JM Law provided a complete set of Trust and related documents. The process was carefully organized to ensure a marvelously professional experience, which included first class service, excellent feedback, attention to detail and guidance through a process designed to be complete, honest and smooth. The bottom line here is when complete one has full confidence in the documents provided. I’d recommend these people to family and friends in a New York minute.

After serving as executor for my mother's estate and having to 1) find a lawyer in NY to assist with this, 2) find all of her various accounts as there wasn't any consolidated information (in fact, I found one account a year after the estate closed!) and 3) having to go through probate, I decided that I should make it easier on my kids to handle my estate in the future. My financial advisor provided a reference for Jessica Marchegiano, ESQ. I had a brief introductory meeting with her and several other estate attorneys and decided she would be a great fit. Luckily for me, she was hired by my financial advisor's firm before I finalized my decision. She professionally handled all aspects of my trust providing advice as necessary with specific questions, she assisted with the transfer of my house title to the trust as well with all the necessary accounts within my advisor's firm, and provided me with a complete document within a few weeks. It was well organized and easy to follow. She was very easy to work with and even offered to meet with my kids (the beneficiaries) should they come to town. I will periodically review it and contact her for updates should they be necessary. I would not hesitate to contact Ms. Marchegiano for at least an introductory meeting if you are considering whether a trust is the right choice for you.

Few things in life, other than your health, are as important as ensuring that those you love are provided for after you’re gone. It’s a responsibility that can be quite daunting given the complexities of the law, the legal profession and the fact that the plan that you create may have to function for years if not decades. Having had a number of estate plans and lawyers over the years I’ve come to the conclusion that one of the most important things you can do is to retain a team that you can trust. After you’ve departed, you have to rely on those you’ve retained to help implement your plan. It is also important to know that estate plans will often need to be adjusted over time to reflect changes in your family’s circumstances. I had an unhappy experience years ago when the law firm that drew up my first estate plan wanted to charge me more to make changes than the original plan cost. This was especially annoying as many of the changes were strictly boilerplate. I quickly decided I didn’t want to be held hostage to this firm. But, who could I turn to? Who could I trust? Fortunately, I attended a financial seminar that featured attorney Jessica Marchegiano. I was impressed by her presentation and later met with her for a detailed overview of what I thought I needed. Our conversation was in plain English. I felt comfortable with both her knowledge and approach and gave her the go-ahead. It wasn’t long before I received a bound estate plan. I am relieved that it’s done and am confident it will withstand the test of time.

Our revocable living trust needed review. (Life brings changes, and those changes need to be reflected in the estate planning documents.) Ms. Marchegiano consulted with us, suggested some changes, and prepared the revisions. Good experience start to finish.

Jessica updated my Trust documents recently and included many items that were not included before. She is very detail oriented and took into account the current tax laws that may have an impact if I did not include certain items in the Trust. Very happy with her work and recommend her unconditionally.

Jessica and her staff put together a full set of legal documents for my wife and me: wills, revocable and retirement trusts, powers of attorney and healthcare power of attorney, living will, and some supporting stuff. She was incredibly patient with us - explaining things, answering questions, tailoring the documents to our somewhat complicated family requirements. She was also very nice/pleasant to work with.
