The BEST LAWYER IN THE WORLD! I was facing 9 years and he was able to get me down to 42 days. Not only is he brilliant but he he has that presence in the courtroom that makes the judge listen to what he is saying. He has a top notch research team at his fingertips. he gave me my options and even said it’s “your life if you want to consult another attorney relating to the research “. So my family and I did that went to two other law practicing attorneys offices with the information relating to the laws (Mike had given us in a memorandum) the both other attorneys that we consulted with said “that the Tillotson Practices did what he would not have done, I looked at him puzzled! he said the information he provided you relating to the law is updated with all the current information and I would have had to hire a research time to find all of that and it would have them 5 days to find”! The other attorney said I would not have told you all this stuff! I said why? he said you don’t need to know this stuff! I said ummm…. thank you and left! This firm is incredible. Extremely professional, excellent communication, and answered all questions I had at a level I understood and was made comfortable. Tough case but they worked through the evidence and got all charges dropped. He talked through expert witnesses and laid out several options. Able to move the initial court date to gather more time for defense. He left no option or angle uninvestigated. 10/10 would highly recommend!

If you want your best chance at beating your charges then you seriously need to talk to this guy. I was actually quite impressed the amount of knowledge he has and his ability to pick apart every small detail and use it to your advantage. The whole process was actually almost stress free. He even calmed my wife's nerves down (free of charge) and she stresses and worries about everything. So if your reading this then yeah, at the least, have a seat with him and talk to him he's a great guy and very easy to talk to, and im pretty sure whatever you throw at him he will find a way to make it better.

Michael recently represented me for a reckless speeding ticket. He got it reduced to improper driving and even talked to prosecutor into reducing my fine by half. He had already made arrangements with the prosecutor before my trial began, so when we were called, it took less than 3 minutes to come to an agreement. Very seamless experience. On March 24, 2019, I was T-boned by the Newport News Police Department. I was charged with a DWI and failure to yield. I had a career ending DUI charge, in an area that is well-known for harsh DUI punishments. My case had multiple difficulties including, a BAC certificate of .14, a less than stellar field sobriety test video, multiple medical conditions, and I was driving a company vehicle. I was arrested for a second DUI within 3 years. Mike Tillotson was able to get it reduced to a "DUI First" with only five days of jail time! I wound up serving one weekend in jail. This was an incredible outcome for me and my family. I only had to get interlock on my primary vehicle versus all of my family's vehicles if I had been convicted of a 2nd DUI. I will admit that I had many moments of anxiety leading up to my court date and that I did not fully understand Michael's strategy until my trial was underway. When the judge was reading her decision (regardless of the outcome), I was more than satisfied in Michael's diligent representation. I was found NOT GUILTY. Although I interpreted Michael as unorthodox and he left me wondering at times, I assure you that there is a method to his madness. This man knows exactly what he is doing and gives 100% of himself to his clients. He's worth every penny. What can I say about Michael Tillotson? Simply the best. He has a very deep understanding of the nuances of every single dui case. Simply put, he has a lot of experience. I was pulled over and charged with DWI in NK County. I found Mr. Tillotson by doing a search for top DUI Lawyers in Richmond. He came up even though he was in Newport News. I called his office and spoke with him about my case and decided to retain him for my case. I didn't know what to expect and felt like my life was over and there was no way to get out of this charge. My job was on the line if I was convicted of a DUI, which would have caused me to lose everything I worked so hard for. Mr. Tillotson made me feel better as soon as I spoke with him. He has extensive knowledge of all the different aspects of DUI charges. He will go through your case bit by bit and look at everything. The morning we went to court, he spoke with the prosecutor, who didn’t seem like he was willing to budge. Mr. Tillotson was very persistent with the prosecutor and the arresting officer on the evidence he had to prove that the officer exaggerated in his report as well as the fact that I was on a low carb diet, which can affect your BAC. He was able to get them to agree to reduce the charge down to a Reckless Driving charge with a restricted license for 6 months, which is much better than what I would have received if convicted of a DUI/DWI. I can not recommend a better lawyer for DUI/DWI charges. He is well worth the money spent.
