It had been over six months since my "on the job" injury and my journey into the confusing world of workers' compensation. I felt like my life, as I had known it, was slipping from my grip. Confused, upset, and in terrible pain and feeling totally helpless, one friend who had known a lady who got injured on the job and had hired an attorney. The case went to court and the attorney won! In May 2010, in Richmond, Virginia, I was a passenger in a work taxi that was traveling too fast and hit a large pothole. Due to the speed the driver was going, when we hit the pothole I was tossed out of my seat and twisted my back resulting in serious spinal injuries that led to a surgery. On July 4, 2011, I was driving down Newtown Road in Virginia Beach, Virginia, when I stopped at a red traffic light and was rear-ended. I was involved in an auto accident on January 19, 2011 on I-264 in Virginia. I was traveling east when a vehicle came over in my lane after getting on the ramp and collided with my car. I was in an auto accident Aug. 2011. I was on my way to work, it was my first day back. I had spine surgery May 2011.
