I was impressed with Ms. Currin after my first visit. I was seeking DIVORCE advice. She was very informative. She explained the whole process up front, what was required, and approximately how long the whole process would take. The cost was explained and my consult payment went towards my fee. I was also able to make installment payments on the remaining balance. This was very convenient since I was alone in the costs. I was able to ask questions along the way, and she always responded promptly. She was able to keep my cost down by utilizing interns, and I actually was mailed a refund of my paid monies back. I was not expecting that to happen at all or even happen so quickly afterwards. It was a blessing to see. She was very professional and friendly at the same time, very easy to talk to, and explained things in plain english so I could understand. I would recommend her highly and/or their firm Law Office of Shelley F. Wood in Chesapeake to anyone seeking legal counsel. I hope to utilize the firm in the future for living/deceased will purposes. Even though I hired her for my divorce which is usually a sad time . . . I must say the process was made enjoyable by Ms. Currin's demeanor, courtesy, professionalism and her ability to show care for another human being and not just see dollar signs.

Although I did not retain Mrs. Currin my consultation was outstanding! She has given me more advice on how to best handle my situation than any lawyer or paralegal has in the last month and a half. She extremely knowledgeable and beyond understanding. I couldn't thank her enough!

Katherine provided outstanding legal counsel for my family as we prepared our will and other legal documents for the first time. We wanted to make sure we had the proper legal documents in place as we prepared to welcome our first child. Katherine walked us through the entire process of writing our will and other legal documents. She did an exemplary job of explaining the entire process and taking us through each component of the documents. Katherine has an unwavering passion for the law that extends to the care she gives to each of her clients.

Ms. Currin has advised myself and a number of my family members regarding child custody issues. Ms. Currin was polite, honest, and very knowledgeable. I know that she protects her client's interests and really cares for their wellbeing and the wellbeing of the children. She is a top notch attorney that I will always call first if we are in need again.

I found myself in some really hard times and charged with a crime I'd never do. I was in the wrong place, at the wrong time. She advocated so fiercely for me and was very honest with me about the whole process and how she thought things would work out. I felt confident in her represention. I hope i never need another attorney again..but if i do, I'm calling Ms. Currin!

Finding myself on the wrong side of the law, I felt my professional life was over. But Ms. Currin went above and beyond what I expected and fought for my interests. After intense negotiations with the Commonwealth Attorney's office, she convinced them to drop my unclassified felony charge to a misdemeanor with no jail time. Even though I was still convicted of a crime, the results of Ms. Currin's efforts actually put me in a better position than I was in before I was charged. What I mean is: her unwavering support of and intense care about my situation inspired me to make the best of this second chance. And if not for that support and care, I wouldn't have found myself in my current professional position. In some ways she helped make me become the person I am and the person I'm becoming. Although I hope to never need her services again, she'll be the first person I think of should that unfortunate need arise.

To Whom it May Concern: Unrivaled, devoted, proactive, passionate, and by far; superlative. These are but a few of the many adjectives to describe Ms. Katherine Currin. Over a year and a half ago, Ms. Currin was assigned as my public defender. Not only did Ms. Currin support and trust in everything that I told her, but projected her confidence in my case onto me. She answered any and all questions I had. She went out of her way to unearth every stone and explain every possibility and outcome in any decision I made. Most importantly, she surpassed her obligations as a public defender to help my case when she was no longer was my attorney. In doing so, my story was heard and the best possible outcome for my situation was reached. I wholeheartedly believe had I been assigned any other attorney, my life would be very different now.
