The team at ThompsonMcMullan, PC has served our enterprise's legal needs for the last year. I stress the word team! The lawyers that Director, J Buckley Warden assembled for our matters know how to deliver the information to our leadership so that we can easily understand the issues and they bring solutions that we can act on quickly and decisively. Each one of them is kept up to speed on the others involvement so they can work collaboratively in our best interest. In my 30+ years as a small businessperson I have worked with many attorneys on both sides of cases. I have not found any better in my experience than the lawyers at TM!

I have had the pleasure of working with J. Buckley Warden IV for many years. He supports my company’s loss prevention and claims departments with diligent and meticulous attention to our legal concerns. I am using ThompsonMcMullan for some Virginia real estate issues. This is a well-respected firm, and truly deserves it's good grounded reputation. STYLE OF BUSINESS: I have been interacting with them now for approximately 1 year. Sherry Fox and Buckley J. Warden III are our primary attorneys. They are both very personable, intelligent, and caring. They have integrity and common sense. They are not afraid of being aggressive in a case when appropriate. However, they strongly pursue remaining in a positive light with the local courts/judges by refusing to waste anyone's time (or our money) with frivolous filings. They only submit very clear, substantiated information. I appreciate this immensely, as this is how I also choose to do business. CHARGES/COST: I feel they are fair in time charged; I never feel they are "pumping" the clock. They clearly tell us when something in the process is about to get expensive, and ask us if we are sure we want to move ahead. They are judicious in phone time, only setting calls (versus emails) when appropriate for the communication. COMMUNICATION: Both Sherry and Buckley listen well. They communicate potential outcomes of each step taken. They seek to understand what WE want in our process, and explain patiently why they are recommending what steps to get there they think is best. They later re-check to be sure we have not changed our mind before embarking on a new piece of our legal process. When needed, they make themselves available very quickly, even once on a weekend in case of emergency. I can say this amazing statement: I ACTUALLY LIKE MY ATTORNEYS - As representative counsel, AND as people. I HIGHLY recommend this firm!

Everyone we interacted with at ThompsonMcMullan was thorough, punctual, helpful and kind. They prepped our paperwork perfectly, and ensured we understood every detail contained within it before signing. They communicated perfectly with the other counsel we needed to share contracts with, and I never felt the need to follow up on status of anything, as they were so prompt with replies and on top of what needed to be done. Carolyn and her team’s knowledge in helping families attain their historical life goals is one of the best in the Richmond Area. LGBTQ+ or single family planning? I cannot say enough good things tabout our experience with ThompsonMcMullan. We hired Sherry Fox to secure our Known Donor Agreement and she was incredible! Not only was she incredibly responsive and professional, but she put us as ease during a process that can often be very vunerable. We will be working with her again once our baby is born to secure our Second Parent Adoption (ensuring my wife, who did not gestate our child, will have the same legal rights as I do).

J. Buckley Warden IV provides exemplary services that far exceed the norms of standard legal counsel. Mr. Warden's counsel is delivered with greatest of passion with a wealth of experience that well exceeds his years. An excellent litigator and a true fighter.
