I had a traffic case that would be settled in a straightforward manner in other states. In Virginia, this meant having to go to court and litigating. As an out-of-state defendant with my own life to worry about, David managed the case with an appropriate level of concern. He wasn't alarmist like some of the other attorney's I interviewed, but helped give a realistic picture about what a plea-bargain normally requires. He wasn't trying to make the case easy for him through my heavy-lifting, it seemed. He was knowledgeable about how cases normally went and communicated briefly but effectively: * what I had to do to meet my goals * the type of information that he wanted from me * the current status of the court case. Additionally, I wanted to seek a continuance in order to complete community service hours. David secured the continuance in a timely manner and let me know when my case was continued once more, presumably at the prosecutor's request. I really appreciated that David was quick and to the point in getting what I wanted out of the case, without requiring a lot of heavy lifting from me.

Mr. Long helped with a reckless driving charge for teen grandson who sped around a weaving truck. After the court date, grandson was smiling that the charge was lowered and his first comment was "he was great!" He was responsive to questions we had throughout the time before the court date. The office got back to me about a day after I sent my inquiry. I was explained what the fees and process was during the first call with staff.
