Do NOT use this attorney for child support if you are the Dad. The attorney never checked on what the mom was going to be presenting. Never asked for evidence of the child support costs she gave in court. My son was completely blindsided in court. The mom lied about the childcare...inflating it so much that my son doesn't have enuf money to live independently. The attorney did NO work ahead of time, my son was NOT represented in any meaningful way. I would give this guy a ZERO...for the child support. And a 3.5 for an unrelated traffic violation. There are only 10 days to appeal. My son suffers from crippling depression and anxiety. By the time he was at a point to try to figure anything out...the 10 days were gone and he is now saddled with a $2000 child support for 3 years on a salary of $60K!!! legal extortion. Do NOT use this guy this type of case.

Fishwick and Associates assisted Plowshare Peace Center with a recent issue: the City of Roanoke told us that they would require insurance and notifications of local businesses before they would give us permits for our monthly silent peace vigils. We met with John Fishwick and Daniel Martin about this matter, and they suggested sending a letter to the City Attorney. The letter Daniel Martin wrote was very detailed and persuasive. The City Attorney responded by waiving the insurance and notification requirements. Fishwick and Associates took us on pro bono -as they did a decade ago when there was an attempt to ban us from the sidewalk in front of the City Market Building -and they did a magnificent job. This firm cares deeply about the First Amendment. They are a real gift to Roanoke. We especially want to single out Daniel Martin for his superb work.
