I originally called Mr. Bohannon's office related to a non-compliance charge against my husband for interlock violation. We previously worked with another attorney but because the attorney was also friends with the judge and court employees in a small town, time and effort did not seem to be taken for fair evaluation of my husband's case and the attorney did not seem to address certain issues with the judge on behalf of clients due to his personal conflict of interest. My husband was not under court order for interlock but instead in a voluntary program. Thus, these charges should never have been filed. I searched for an attorney outside of the usual local group and located Mr. Bohannon. I called on a Sunday to leave a message as I needed representation ASAP and actually got a call back that very day! I was impressed with his communication skills, empathy for both myself and husband, and prompt response. I was able to schedule an in person meeting within a couple of days. At that meeting, he dedicated uninterrupted time to my husband's case, explaining what the possible scenarios might be in court and how he would handle each one, as needed. He worked diligently on my husband's behalf to keep him from spending time in jail, away from work and family, understanding that he was in a voluntary program. He was not afraid to discuss that my husband was not actually under court supervision and thus non-compliance charges were not appropriate. He began working with the DA before even entering the courtroom, ensuring that court proceedings went smoothly. Attorneys should do the job that they are hired to do, regardless of their relationships with court employees in the community and with Mr. Bohannon, it was clear that he took his job seriously and worked to get the best results for his client. If you do not have trust and rapport with your attorney, you are less likely to have success and Mr. Bohannon established both of these immediately and continued to exemplify this professionalism throughout the process.

Mr. Bohannon took on a complex case of mine in the summer of 2016. He worked hard and quite effectively to limit the damage from the case over the next two years. Although I would like to have zero issues that necessitate Mr. Bohannon's services, if I had to pick up the phone to contact an attorney for traffic court it would be him. He was informative, educational and kind when addressing my needs. He made sure that I understood all of my options before we moved forward on anything and he answered my questions thoroughly before we got in front of the judge. One of the things that seems to help in general is the relationship that your attorney has with the court, through continuances and appeals I was in front of several judges and DA's with him and they demonstrated willingness to work with him and a genuine respect for him. Whether you think so or not, I am sure that this went a long way in his ability to negotiate with "the court". He didn't pander or come across as weak when dealing with them but had a natural rapport with everyone that we came across. The outcome from my appeal could not have gone any better down to having 2 of 3 traffic charges dismissed and the most leninent and least disruptive sentencing that I could have hoped for. I watched him argue on my behalf and use all of the tools of his trade without appearing slick or disingenuous to the judge and ultimately it made me confident that he would be more helpful than harmful in my case. I breathe a lot easier after having selected him as my attorney and recommend that you contact him if you are seeking someone that treats you like more than a case file. I appreciate everything that he did for me.

Very awesome lawyer. He guided me through the specific steps I needed to take to dismiss my charges and that is exactly what got my charges dropped. He was very patient with the case and it couldn't have turned out better. So grateful and happy with him as my lawyer I definitely recommend for anyone with charges from felonies to misdemeanors.

Mr Bohannon is the most excellent trial lawyer I have seen. Not only that but he stands behind his clients in the most difficult of times. Unfortunately and even though I know Sussex County VA is heavily monitored for speeding, I was issued a citation for 86 in a 70. Don’t let what happened to me happen to you. I had my cruise control set for 75 MPH, when I saw the two police cars in the median of I95 North, I panicked and instead of decreasing my speed with the control by 5 MPH, I hit the button in the wrong direction, not once but twice which in fact increased my spend by 10 MPH. Technology in our cars is very innovative, but one button hit in the wrong direction can not only be very dangerous, but also costly and in this case, broke the law. Given the severity of my circumstances, I required legal representation and Brenton Bohannon was high recommended as someone to represent me. I also did my reach and appreciated Brenton’s very good online reviews. He knows the area, the people involved (down to the Officer that issued the citation), the legal system in Sussex County and I’m satisfied with the outcome I received with Brenton’s representation. Excellent representation from start to finish. I was in a situation that was very stressful and my outlook was bleak. I was facing a Felony and two Misdemeanor charges with three witness testifying against me. Every call that I made to Mr. Bohannon's office was returned promptly. He kept me informed on what was going on with my case and always tried to put my mind at ease. I had many sleepless nights due to the case, however I always thought about what Mr. Bohannon told me. He continually told me that I hired him to worry about the case and I needed to try to just relax and he would resolve it for me. When I arrived for my pretrial hearing I was informed by Mr. Bohannon that the felony charge had been dropped. He explained to me that only charges that I was facing was the misdemeanor charges and explained the possibilities. Mr. Bohannon continued to work for me and was able to get one of the misdemeanor charges dropped for me. My case was resolved at pretrial and I did not have to serve any jail time and had to pay court cost. I couldn't ask for better representation! I am very profound of Brent's work. Brent was able to calm me down and address what had to be done during my arrangement and trial. I was arrested for possession of marijuana and reckless driving. I was ordered to abide my the CAASAP program for my marijuana charge, I live out of state in New York where marijuana is decriminalized and it was hard for me to stay in a outpatient rehab due to lack of interest for my case. The court was not happy with that and wanted to punish me. I was found guilty of the charge because I was unable to complete the CAASAP program, although I had a DSM 5 clearance letter to excuse my absence From outpatient. I was ordered 30 days in jail, the sentence got suspended, and $500 bail and court fees. Case closed. I was not happy. Brent got the judge to agree to open my case for appeal and after many words, presented paperwork and evidence, my marijuana charge was dismissed. Brent understood it was not fair that I was being penalized due to disagreements across many state boarders. I highly recommend Brent's services or anyone from Riley & Wells, the paralegals were very informative and were able to help a great amount when the attorney was unavsilable.

I hired Mr. Bohannon to represent me for a DUI charge, Mr. Bohannon was able to get this very severe charge reduced to a reckless driving, which is unheard of. Mr. Bohannon worked extremely hard through out my case to ensure that my goals were being met and that my voice was being heard.
