Mr. Bianchi worked expeditiously on a matter for me in the years 2005-2007. Recently, a problem came up on this matter. Mr. Bianchi was able to resolve the problem in a timely and efficient matter. I would highly recommend Mr. Bianchi as an attorney.

George was patient. He wasn't the best communicator to me, but that's probably part of his plan. He got cased dismissed, although I doubted him. I would recommend him to any friend

About a year ago, I began the long and stressful process that comes after an arrest for DUI. I hired George Bianchi as my legal counsel and have been overly impressed throughout my experience with him. I am from Louisiana and had to travel back and forth throughout the process. Mr. Bianchi worked tirelessly for countless hours guiding me through the process and preparing for my defense. He corresponded with me regularly and kept me up to date on what was going on. He overly impressed me on his attention to detail and his knowledge of the law. He exemplifies professionalism and is very kind and courteous. His dedication to his clients , his vast knowledge of the law, his steadfast determination to fight every second for his client's best interest, is only a few of the many reasons that Mr. Bianchi won my case. I would recommend no one else at aid you in your DUI defense. Mr. Bianchi is without a doubt the best in Seattle.

Our son was pulled over for a DUI at age 17. Mr. Bianchi was amazing. He talked directly to our son and was very clear about what this meant to our son and his future. For that alone, thank you George! George was extremely articulate and knowledgeable, and able to clearly explain exactly what the many possible outcomes might be and what we needed to be prepared for. There was massive information shared at our initial meeting and George was very patient in explaining it all, as well as providing documentation for us to take home, so we could read it again when we weren't so overwhelmed by everything. George listened very carefully to what our son had to say about what happened, was well versed in what the police report said and very straightforward in letting us know what the possible strengths and weaknesses of the case were. He was there for all the court hearings and made sure we knew what to expect and what the results meant. His staff was also extremely helpful in scheduling matters and answering any last minute questions we had. George also handled the separate DOL hearing, providing DOL with information he obtained through his experts to support our side. End result - DUI lowered to a Neg.1 driving charge and the DOL DISMISSED the suspension charges. This was literally the first time our son had gotten in trouble. George took the time to connect with our son, make him VERY aware of what the consequences of another DUI would be and I cannot recommend him highly enough. His knowledge of current case law and the court system is unparalleled and he knocked it out of the park for us. We hope we never have to see him again professionally - but would not hesitate to call him again if the need arose. Thank you, George!

In addressing a troubling legal matter concerning my son, I turned to George Bianchi for guidance as I had worked with him on another matter 9 years earlier following several positive referrals. In the earlier matter I was impressed with his no nonsense approach, his detailed attention to my concerns including the costs associated with his efforts and throughout the process I was kept informed as to the options before me, the costs and the likely outcome. In that earlier matter and then again most recently, I was both impressed and fully satisfied with the manner in which he managed the process and the outcome of the final ruling. George Bianchi is a great attorney and I am fortunate to have chosen to work with him on both of my cases.

Working with Koby on starting-up a craft distillery, has been a wonderful learning experience. Her approach has always been (since day one) direct & honest, to the point. Koby is able to explain legalities and contractual concepts in layman's terms to make them applicable to what we actually want to do: make rum. She has always provided feedback in a timely manner (even just to given indication on when a certain task will be completed). I look forward to continuing to work with Koby as we turn our start-up project into business reality.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Bellevue, Washington?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
