I was fired for being non-binary/transgender from a job. I never hide who I am, but when they found I used gender neutral pronouns and name, they had a big issue. It was horrific. I live in Bellingham! A place known for being enlightened and educated. I didn’t know what to do but my parents encouraged me to not drop it, as so many others could also be harmed. I reached out to several lawyers, but something about how Ryan spoke made me listen. Ryan showed up and was compassionate, understanding, and hard working. He answered questions with patience (even though I felt perhaps I was being annoying), and made sure I knew exactly what should and could happen with each step. The other side had some old boomer law firm, but Ryan was not intimidated. He stuck to the facts. In the end, Ryan got much better results than I ever expected.
