I saw her in action in court and she shines!!!! She is the first attorney that held her ground against my ex and she put him in his place too. It was great seeing and experiencing that for the first time ever!!! And she is the first female attorney I have ever gotten. I have been dealing with male attorneys that don't stand up for me and help my ex with his paper work. 2 people suggested I get a female attorney that she will fight more for me and I got that with Erika... I now trust she knows what shes doing and will be a cougar in the court room!!!! Glad Tamblyn law is on my side.

I had two contracts for her to review. I thought one replaced the original. However, I wasn't sure about the second. Allison analyzed both contracts and decided that the second contract was the valid one. She took care of my whole legal problem with in 30 minutes. I have never experienced a more competent attorney. She is fairly you but she know her contract law backwards and forwards.

We called many Attorneys and had no luck when we needed help with keeping Custody of our Grand Children. We tried using a Web Site called about the Children and all the money and time was wasted. I went to Allison with 3 day notice of my daughter was to pick up the children, we needed to make sure she was able to care for the children due to substance abuse. Alison was able to get an emergency hearing and we still are able to keep the Children due to reasons as mentioned. We cant thank her enough. The Children are safe and cared for until mom can do the job.

Anyone facing divorce knows the financial and emotional upheaval that is about to descend on your life. Finding a competent lawyer to guide you through the divorce process can be a daunting task and I found such a lawyer: Sarah Brandon from North Country Law Office. Sarah's calm, empathetic demeanor was a great support during the entire divorce proceedings. She always consistently steered me in the right direction to ensure the best possible outcome. Sarah’s advice on two separate occasions prevented me from taking actions that would have further complicated resolving an already emotionally-charged divorce. Sarah is a firm, tough negotiator and with her many years of practicing family law, she has acquired exceptional expertise in divorce law. Her superior understanding of the law resulted in a settlement that will enable me to live a financially-secure post-divorce life. What was impressive is she held down legal fees by avoiding expensive litigation. Regarding Sarah's fees, her retainer and other expenses were reasonable. She called and emailed only when it was necessary. Sarah didn't play the all-to-common legal game of driving up legal expenses with unnecessary legal maneuvers. She is honest, ethical and I would highly recommend Sarah to handle any divorce, from the simple to the complex. Sarah is the owner of the law firm. Her office staff of Liz, Tasha and Katie understand how difficult divorce can be and they more than once put me at ease with their lighthearted sense of humor and kindness. The professional and personable services this firm provided made the rocky road of divorce easier. Finally, I had the utmost confidence in being represented by a law firm owned and staffed entirely with women. My confidence was not misplaced as my ability to live a financially-secure life is due entirely to this firm. Thank you, Sarah, Katie, Tasha and Liz for your hard work and dedication.

If you are in need of an attorney to represent you in a personal injury case we highly, highly recommend Tom Webster, and his Law Office. If you are in this need, you are actually looking for a friend with excellent legal skills. Tom really knows the law, specifically the laws surrounding personal injury claims. He also knows a great deal on the medical side. He was most helpful in guiding us to terrific specialists who were of great help. Tom and his team are many things; extremely competent, compassionate, caring and effective. Very effective. The end result of our case was that Tom and his team were able to secure for us, triple the amount originally offered by the insurance company. Tom’s team also handled all the providers claims that needed to be dealt with afterward. Highly recommend Tom Webster and his team. You will find that friend and he in turn WILL walk with you as your life returns to normal …and maximize your settlement.

My husband and I hired Tom for my husbands case regarding visitation with his children, the original plan needed to be modified since we moved 400 miles away. It should have been simple but thanks to my husbands ex-wife's attorney, it wasn't. It seemed as though her attorney, being from the a bigger city, thought she could get over on our "small town" attorney-was she wrong. They dug deep to confirm anything she said about the court systems in the county that this had to be filed in and caught her in some less than truthful situations. Long story short, Tom and his whole office went out of their way to make us their first priority at all times, they kept us informed of every little detail and offered up advice they thought would resolve our case in an attempt to save us time and money. He's a caring and compassionate attorney and I would use him over and over if needed. We once had a conversation about how 99% of attorney's are in it for the money and the other 1% are in it to help families...Tom's the other 1% in my book!

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Colville, Washington?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
