Could not have asked for better representation. First time going through an unfortunate DUI situation, really nervous, scared, unsure of what was going to happen. But Jeremy and his team were there for me every step of the way and at the end we couldn’t have asked for better outcome. Anyone in the Chelan county area, who needs representation for DUI, I highly recommend you give this office a call.

Pros
1
Exceptional legal representation and outcomes, including getting charges reduced or dismissed
“Thanks to John's diligent work and determination, the DUI charge was dismissed. This experience was incredibly stressful, but with their guidance and expertise, I felt supported every step of the way.”
2
Responsive, communicative, and patient attorneys who explain the legal process
“Jeremy Burke was professional, straightforward and very patient in explaining all the aspects of our case. We felt comfortable speaking with him and he earned our trust by standing by his word.”
3
Attorneys with extensive experience and expertise, including former prosecutors
“I am from Louisiana and lived in the Wenatchee Valley back in 2007 and prior years. I was arrested for a DUI and convicted as I served a majority of my probation and paid all restitutions as well as inpatient/outpatient programs. Unfortunately I was forced to leave Wenatchee due to immediate family circumstances. In the past 5 years I have tried to obtain my driver's license but had a flag from WA. I was told there was a warrant for my arrest. I just recently contacted Mr. Brangwin to consult on my case and within the month he had waved his magical wand and after 17 years I was able to obtain my LA driver's license.”
4
Reasonable fees and flexible payment plans
“Jeremy Burke is an excellent attorney. I was dealing with a driving while suspended in the second degree. I was wrongfully suspended due to clerical errors. After interviewing another highly rated attorney who said that my case was nearly impossible to win, I spoke with Jeremy, and he saw the merits of my case. Jeremy was very professional and jumped through every hoop that the prosecuting attorney put in front of us. In the end, I ended up receiving a traffic citation, which I probably deserved in the first place. Five out of five stars for Jeremy and his office staff.”
Cons
1
Lack of communication and updates on case progress
“In hindsight, there wasn't anything to be updated on and most of my concern was fueled by normal stresses expected / inexperience with being in my situation. However, a call would've been nice.”
2
Expensive legal fees
“The only reason I cut their rating a little is they are fairly expensive but then I guess you get what you pay for.”

After I moved out of my rental house three months early, the roommates I had signed the lease with were still living there. They got evicted before the last month. My name was on the lease as one of the renters, so the owners sued to get the last months of rent from me. When I signed the lease, I informed them that I would be leaving earlier than the full year and asked to have that noted. They verbally agreed to this. Unfortunately it was not in writing so I could not argue that I did not owe the money. Scott came in and argued my case. The owner's settled for a partial payment from me with the stipulation they would seek the other portions from the roommates who actually had agreed to stay the full year. There is no eviction record on my credit score as a result and I was not required to pay the full amount for the mistake of not getting something in writing. That will not happen again!

  4. What is your approach to resolving cases like mine?
Learn about their strategy, whether they prefer negotiation, mediation, or litigation.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of East Wenatchee, Washington?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
