Renee was hired as a GAL on our case and refused to bring forth recommendations for the court to order a parental alienation evaluation at the onset of my custody dispute case, with clear and obvious signs of the aforementioned. (Son showing up to visitation with my ex wife’s fiancé’s last name on his clothing, fiance’s name as Dad in my son’s gizmo watch, my son saying fiance was his father, etc...) I went from having my son hold my hand and give me hugs before to swearing at me, being disrespectful and not wanting to be near me all in the matter of 3-4 months and the less time we had together, the worse it got. Crickets from Renee. After a year of her moving at snails pace and being ill equipped to deal with high conflict custody cases, I paid close to $80k (between 2 lawyers, 2 supervisors, her, time loss from work, [psychiatric evaluation and risk assessment, which came both back normal, no drugs or DV risk] and other miscellaneous costs) to get my son back. I was not successful. DO NOT use her as a GAL. She has no clue how to handle high conflict cases and will drain your bank account through forcing you to use her hand picked, biased professionals, while refusing to recommend the right folks who can potentially end the case much sooner. She acted like it was no big deal and said I could represent myself if costs were getting too high, while working 60-70 hour work weeks to maintain my household and pay all of the open hands of the court system to get my son back. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

This woman KNOWS what she's doing. I would send ANYONE I cared for to Melanie. If you want someone who is going to work hard, have you back, be there for you.... SHES YOUR GAL. I don't BAT an eye when I have to pay her to take care of me as a client because I KNOW SHE WILL every ..SINGLE..Time.

My experience is long overdue! I was referred to Melanie's office through a family friend who is a retired lawyer. I had previously hired a lawyer in October of 2016 to help me with my divorce, he did not know what he was doing, he had me fill out unnecessary paperwork and then was supposed to serve my husband, when I asked a week or so later if it happened he said that he couldn't find him and was trying (false), he must have finally submitted the serving papers, because a month later he was served. He would set up meetings often with no reason and nothing come of it. It was like he was lengthening the process and didn't know what he was doing, finally I was fed up with the situation and contacted a few different offices to see if I could get information on costs and process with other ones. I called Melanie's office and Tina was the one I originally spoke to, she asked me a few questions and provided guidance, I told her I would call her back once I knew what I wanted to do. Tina called me back within 15 minutes and had taken the time to look up my case with the course, apparently I had a meeting in court in 2 days (I was never told this by my lawyer), so I called him and asked if it were true and he said yes he had just received the letter and I had to be there (he had actually received the letter almost a month and a half before). At this point I was bought in and set up a meeting with Melanie and she helped me handle the rest of the process. I am a person that doesn't like to create more problems in an already problematic situation and avoid confrontation, Melanie was so great with me and listening to my needs! She pushed the other office as they delayed the process and we were finally able to have the whole thing completed within a few months, versus the year or so I had already been waiting with no resolution. She explained all options, was always on my side and didn't push me one way or another, she really put all the choices in my hands as I was going to be the one dealing with it. I could not have been happier with both of them, they are a great team!

Melanie Griffin provided excellent representation in my family law case. She is very professional, always calm and organized. She returns calls and emails promptly, and she was always well prepared. While all attorneys are expensive, this office is professionally managed and everything is very upfront and clearly communicated in terms of charges and billing.
