Been meaning to get in and write a review! Tom has helped me out through 1 bankruptcy and 2 divorces. He was honest and direct all throughout each process. Highly recommend his services!

Leslie Gilbertson and team are stars! Thank you for taking this case on and steering it in the direction you did. Leslie picked out the essential issues around visitation and addressed the fundamental reality of where our grandson lives, has lived and will continue to live. Her presentation of each point in your argument was superb!

Dropped a huge retainer and we have not had a single filing completed in time for my family’s case with Leslie Gilberston specifically. Communication is massively lacking. I’m charged for every time I email or call for an update that I don’t get. Be wary when they say they have the capacity for your case and expect to be your own advocate with the courts if you choose this firm, especially if it is family law.

I would NEVER recommend using Leslie Gilbertson! The communication with her and her assistant was terrible, taking over a week to respond to an email and never available to take a call or wouldn't return a message. It took over 4 months for her to file court documents. All background checks required, were done before coming to her, all she had to do was file the paperwork. Poor follow up on service filed, delaying yet again. It took her 3 months to even touch the case, each time I inquired on the progress, I was told she was in court. I should have been informed upon hiring her, that she was backed up, I would have chosen another attorney. I should have listened to her bad reviews, I often read them and take them as a grain of salt, lesson learned! HORRIBLE experience!

Natalie is the most professional and caring lawyer that has ever helped me. I have hired two private practice lawyers in the last few years and have yet to be impressed. Natalie new from the beginning that the prosecution did not have a case, unfortunately the prosecution did not. I lost the case, however it was overturned on appeal. The trial judge had effectively cheated us as he changed the "to convict rules" after the trial!

Unfortunately I have had to be represented many times in the past in the criminal courts because of my drug addiction. The case that Natalie Tarantino represented me in was very serious. In the first few weeks that I was incarcerated I was going through withdrawals from heroin and my condition was somewhat delirium. First, Natalie had to convince me how serious my crime was. She discouraged me from going down some legal roads that were an option. Looking back I am glad I followed her advice and faced the consequences for my actions that benefited me in the long run. Natalie Tarantino was very professional, patient, and friendly. She did what she said she would.

I have know C. Anthony for almost 30 years. I was in professional school when he was in Law School. I have always been impressed with Tony's honesty and integrity. He has been my attorney for 25+ years and I have had outstanding service and attention. Tony has the rare gift of humor that dovetails well with a highly professional presentation. I would highly recommend him to anyone who is looking for an honest, caring, spirited, "real" family man. He has unique experience in several aspects of the law and has represented me in the health professions admirably. I view Mr. Davis as one of my closest and respected friends as well as my attorney. 5 stars...a true "10".

Four years ago, Nic Bacetich walked into my hospital room. My road to recovery was long. Dealing with a case & the drunk driver was the last on my mind. Nic has been God-sent. He dove right in. This case was harder than we anticipated. It took an immense amount of dedication, time, proof & knowledge. We met many times in person, over phone & over emails. He remained honest, patient & professional from start to finish. As time went on I was accumulating more & more medical bills. From surprise surgeries, to treatments, therapies & miscellaneous medical spendings. Without Nic I would have been stuck with hundreds of thousands of dollars to pay off. His assistant Lorrie has been tremendous help. Very attentive & responsive. They have great connections & go the extra mile. They truly, truly care about their clients & have become like family. Nic Bacetich has given us the results we’ve never thought were achievable. I’m forever & ever grateful. Without the help of Nic, I would not have had the successful outcome. It was a long road, but very well worth it.

Outstanding performance. I hired Nic and gave him a box of papers and notes that were a mess, as I am a challenged person. Instead of fleeing from me (understandably) he drew CLOSER to me, determined to rescue me. His deep kindness was equaled by his professional acumen. He delivered more than he promised, granting me my desired victory plus gifting me with a new lifelong friend. Highest recommendation.

Nick and his staff are some of the nicest and purest humans on this earth. They help you from A to Z. They’re clear, quick, and fair. Nick went above and beyond with my mothers injuries and getting her a fair payout given all the speed bumps. Now I was hit by a reckless driver and will be using him for my incident. Will review again once done!

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Everett, Washington?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
