I have used David a few times for different family members. He is amazing! From the second you call you get a sense that you are in good hands! He handles everything and walks you through the entire process. I’ve recommended him countless times and will continue to do so. Love his entire office! Office mgr is super sweet and listens well. Such a great firm. I wish I could give more stars!

I recently was charged with a DUI in Snohomish County and it was scary. I called Mr. Jolly and he was so helpful and knew so much about DUI defense. He spent a lot time talking with me about my case and was candid with me about what I could expect. The other attorneys in the office also helped whenever I called with any questions. Mr. Jolly helped me set up a payment plan and treated me fairly and kindly. I've never had to hire a lawyer before and I hope I won't again. If I do, I'd call Mr. Jolly and his office again without question. The Law Firm of David Jolly is the best in their business and I'm so glad I had them to help me through this. Thank you, David!

Well we went to trial and won, so what more needs said? Well the fact that he really worked with me and didn't talk down to me. He was a great and detailed listener. Very thorough too in planning his case, not putting all his eggs in one basket so to speak. If one of his arguments was shot down by the judge or and objection by opposition sustained, then he immediately went to his next argument, and then the next. He is probably the eighth or ninth attorney I've worked with and this was the best experience by far. And he even gave me a ride home after trial.

I'm very pleased that I chose Matt Stock to represent me.  He was compassionate, straightforward and patient with me.  The day I met him in person I got a good feeling about him.  He seemed pleasant to talk to and looked like he had integrity.  My initial impression was confirmed throughout our interactions in the following months.  He never sugar coated anything, he was respectfully direct and always made time for me.  Thanks to his knowledge, expertise and the time he devoted to helping me prepare my defense, (and I guess the details of the case to some extent) the commissioner did rule in my favor.  I would highly recommend this attorney to help you with your issue.  I have never had any run-ins with the law or courts.  If I find myself in a position needing representation again, Matt Stock will be at the top of my list!

These attorneys are the most compassionate, empathetic, ethical, and dedicated attorneys. I hired them to represent me on 3 protection order cases and 1 criminal case. I was facing the possibility of losing my career due to my cases. But Matt Stock won all 4 of my cases!! Matt went above and beyond by diving deep into investigating my cases, discovering discrepancies, and developing effective strategies to successfully win all 4 of my cases. There were times that I felt so scared and wanted to give up. But Matt would encourage and empower me to keep moving forward and he truly understood my fears. I knew that I could trust Matt and his partners, which is not easy to say regarding attorneys. These attorneys truly care about their clients and they are very passionate about what they do. The work ethic and integrity that they demonstrated was beyond amazing. If you’re looking for experienced trial attorneys that know how to argue in a courtroom and will deliver results, hire Matt Stock and his partners.

I met Stephanie the day after severe car accident in February 2016. At the time I had no idea how badly I was injured . The first thing Steaphine advised me to do was be treated. This became a 31/2 years journey. Of surgerys , doctors and therapists. The worst was a brain injury. Through all of that Stepahnie was always on my side. Fighting for me encouraging me . She always told me the truth. She became a advocate for me . She never quit even when I wanted to . She always respected me and all decisions were mine. But she always gave me wise and valued council. Her faith in me and my case gave me the courage to keep fighting . I have worked with several attorneys in my life . I have never met one who cared so much about me as a person and really understood what I felt and the loss I was experiencing. One of the best decisions in my life was hiring her as my attorney . Stepahnie is just a great human . Her integrity, honestly and devotion are in unmatched. She is a very skilled attorney and negotiator . Thank you Stepahnie for helping me get my life back. Pete!!

Her conduct and ethics are beyond reproach. Stephanie argues the law and maintains the integrity of the judicial system by not engaging in, or being drawn into, insults or mud slinging behaviors. Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Everett, Washington?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
