Let me start by saying that I am 46 years old and have never taken the time to sit down and write about the quality of service I have received when working with someone. I have never really had reason to. Especially when it came to lawyers, I have worked with several over the years and have always felt like I didnt get what I paid for or what I was promised. I considered attorneys nothing more than parasites. Since seeing the work Mr. Nichols has done in my wifes DUI case from 2007, I have come to realize that you cant paint everyone with the same brush. My wife is usually a good judge of character as far as getting a feel for what type of person someone is. I was surprised when after her first appointment with Mr. Nichols, she came home and said that she had a good feeling about this attorney and commented that he "seemed like an honest guy". The fact that he made her no promises about how her case would turn out, and didnt brag or grandstand throughout their 1 hour consultation, only reinforced her "good feeling" about what type of attorney he was. (She had planned on talking to two other attorneys before retaining one, but quickly changed her mind and decided to hire Joel based on her "good feeling"). I thought this crazy but knew better than to try to convince her otherwise, her mind was made up. I figured it only a matter of time before he began either trying to charge her more, or not return her calls, or charge her a half hour time for a 20 second call, or do some other dishonest thing that attorneys are known to do but it never happened. The more she dealt with him, the more impressed she was. She had many court dates that I attended with her and it wasnt long before I realized how fortunate we were to have an attorney that was so professional, trustworthy, organized and intelligent. He also did well with dealing with my wife who is bi polar and even though stable on meds, often vents for several minutes before allowing the person she's dealing with to get a word in, and I know that Joel was no exception to her venting sessions.. He was kind in that he allowed her to do this, even though it wasnt in his job description, and did so without getting angry at her even though it would have been understandable. To make a long story short, the entire 22 months that this case went on, we were more than happy with Joels service. He did more than we expected and did so with a professional attitude and dedication. I would highly reccomend that anyone seeking a quality attorney, take the time to meet Joel. You dont find people like this anymore, especially in the legal field!

I assure you that I am not exagerating when I tell you that Mr. Nichols is an excellent attorney!! He representented me for two years on a matter that included many court appearances and several meetings, so I have spent alot of time working with him and can honestly say that I couldnt have asked for better representation. The case I was involved in was resolved a few days ago and when it was all said and done, there wasnt one thing or one area that I can think of over the past two years where I was even slightly disappointed with the way he handled my case. On top of that, his rate is reasonable! For the service I received, I would have paid 40% more and still felt like I got more than my moneys worth. He doesnt pad his time, or charge an hours fee for a 20 phone call. He's fair and honest, and is one of the few attorneys out there who still cares about justice, rather than billable hours. Mr. Nichols very professional in every situation, but isnt the "stuffy" type of professional that none of us like to be around. He's one of those people that you just immediately like. His genuineness is obvious from the first time you meet him and he takes the time to listen to his clients. I could go on and on, but will stop there. Attorneys have a general stereotype of being bloodsucking vampires that have ways to twist laws and language to best fit them. I can wholeheartedly state that Joel is not that type of person. He is extremely intelligent and has the personable skills to truly understand and listen to what I had to say. He steered me threw a difficult time by understanding the situation, listening to my opinion and then sifting that threw the facts of the law he gave me options. HE advised and did not direct. It was never me\us against them. It was the situation compared to the facts of the law. that empowered me to make decisions. That is the difference. In most cases when a customer\client hires a professional we are often given a directive and the steps to take or will be taken. To me that is not what customer service and due diligence is about.
