Delaina was knowledgeable, helpful, fast and efficient. There were a few times when I did not understand things, but was able to call the office and have Delaina answer my questions, or find an answer for me. I really appreciate how Delaina kept me in the loop and informed on procedures. She was a pleasure to deal with. I have already recommended Delaina to some friends of mine. I would recommend her services to anyone who is facing financial difficulties and needing someone to guide them through this process. She was with me every step of the way. Thank you!

Delaina was outstanding in helping me with my case. I was having such financial difficulties and didn't now what to do. She walked me through my options and helped me with a difficult decision. I didn't realize how much work filing for bankruptcy was. She worked really really hard on my behalf. I appreciate her so much. Along with helping me with setting my life back on course, she did little things that made feel that she cared about me as a person, and not just as a client. One such thing was when she found out my pet died, which was a tough time for me, she sent a card to my house with her condolences. I have never had a Lawyer take the time to do such personal touches like that. My life now is going so much better, and I am grateful I found Her.

Delaina advertises as being concerned and experienced -- here is my experience I contacted Delaina after receiving a response from Thumbtack searching for an attorney to handle a tax debt. I also saw Delaina and her partner Ashley in a commercial - debt relief legal services. I set up an appointment as per the Thumbtack process and met with Ashley in the Seattle office. I brought with me to that appointment the letter from the IRS that identified the amount I owed the IRS and the years that it covered. Ashley reviewed them and suggested a chapter 13 would be the best path because based on my home equity, income, and the tax lien I would likely not qualify for a chapter 7. I paid the initial payment of $250 to begin the process. And was then directed to Delaina because she would be more able to handle my complicated tax situation. I had a call with Delaina and had to explain my case – she did not have the letter from the IRS that showed the amounts and years – she had to get that information and therefore we had to have a follow up call. Once she had the information she reviewed it with me on the follow up call, but said she needed to meet in person in the Everett office to begin the filing for the chapter 13. She told me to get my taxes filed prior to that meeting. I wasn’t able to complete the taxes but brought with me all of the information to show what I owed. At that meeting Delaina informed me she didn’t think the chapter 13 would be the best way to handle my situation since my other debt was minor and the lien and my salary would mean I would likely have to pay most of the taxes I owed – she suggested I try to work directly with the IRS or try to get a home equity loan to pay the taxes. I followed her advice, sent the information requested by the IRS to them and met with an attorney to discuss how to get money out of my home’s equity – he didn’t charge me anything for an hour consultation. Note: Delaina said she would refund my money if she could not help me. After my meeting with the attorney and the IRS I informed Delaina I would be working directly with the IRS as she suggested. I requested my refund. Then, she informed me that she would have to bill me for meetings and my refund from the $1500 I paid in advance would be $197.00 – I disputed that via an email and later called to speak with her and was told I could schedule a meeting but it would cost me to meet with her to discuss my dispute of the amount she was charging me. I am pursuing legal action against Delaina to get my money back. I offered to pay $250 plus the $35 for the credit report she ran. Her response was that she did not force me to come into meet with her and that was time she could have spent on someone else.

Natalie is the most professional and caring lawyer that has ever helped me. I have hired two private practice lawyers in the last few years and have yet to be impressed. Natalie new from the beginning that the prosecution did not have a case, unfortunately the prosecution did not. I lost the case, however it was overturned on appeal. The trial judge had effectively cheated us as he changed the "to convict rules" after the trial!

Unfortunately I have had to be represented many times in the past in the criminal courts because of my drug addiction. The case that Natalie Tarantino represented me in was very serious. In the first few weeks that I was incarcerated I was going through withdrawals from heroin and my condition was somewhat delirium. First, Natalie had to convince me how serious my crime was. She discouraged me from going down some legal roads that were an option. Looking back I am glad I followed her advice and faced the consequences for my actions that benefited me in the long run. Natalie Tarantino was very professional, patient, and friendly. She did what she said she would.

I have know C. Anthony for almost 30 years. I was in professional school when he was in Law School. I have always been impressed with Tony's honesty and integrity. He has been my attorney for 25+ years and I have had outstanding service and attention. Tony has the rare gift of humor that dovetails well with a highly professional presentation. I would highly recommend him to anyone who is looking for an honest, caring, spirited, "real" family man. He has unique experience in several aspects of the law and has represented me in the health professions admirably. I view Mr. Davis as one of my closest and respected friends as well as my attorney. 5 stars...a true "10".

Four years ago, Nic Bacetich walked into my hospital room. My road to recovery was long. Dealing with a case & the drunk driver was the last on my mind. Nic has been God-sent. He dove right in. This case was harder than we anticipated. It took an immense amount of dedication, time, proof & knowledge. We met many times in person, over phone & over emails. He remained honest, patient & professional from start to finish. As time went on I was accumulating more & more medical bills. From surprise surgeries, to treatments, therapies & miscellaneous medical spendings. Without Nic I would have been stuck with hundreds of thousands of dollars to pay off. His assistant Lorrie has been tremendous help. Very attentive & responsive. They have great connections & go the extra mile. They truly, truly care about their clients & have become like family. Nic Bacetich has given us the results we’ve never thought were achievable. I’m forever & ever grateful. Without the help of Nic, I would not have had the successful outcome. It was a long road, but very well worth it.

Outstanding performance. I hired Nic and gave him a box of papers and notes that were a mess, as I am a challenged person. Instead of fleeing from me (understandably) he drew CLOSER to me, determined to rescue me. His deep kindness was equaled by his professional acumen. He delivered more than he promised, granting me my desired victory plus gifting me with a new lifelong friend. Highest recommendation.

Nick and his staff are some of the nicest and purest humans on this earth. They help you from A to Z. They’re clear, quick, and fair. Nick went above and beyond with my mothers injuries and getting her a fair payout given all the speed bumps. Now I was hit by a reckless driver and will be using him for my incident. Will review again once done!

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Everett, Washington?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
