From the moment I was recommended to Adler Giersch Personal Injury Law by someone I trust, I knew I was in good hands. Reflecting on my journey, I can confidently say that my only regret is not reaching out to them sooner in the process of dealing with my personal injury claim. My journey began with a car accident that left me grappling with lingering pain and injury for nearly three years. Initially, I felt confident in navigating the complexities of the claim process alone, buoyed by trust in my car insurance company. However, as time passed, it became increasingly apparent that my health and recovery were not their top priorities. The stress of managing doctor appointments and negotiating with insurance companies became overwhelming. Enter Richard Adler and his exceptional team. From the moment I consulted with them, I felt a profound sense of relief and support. Richard, recommended to me by a trusted source, ensured that I felt heard and understood. He seamlessly connected me with the dynamic legal duo of Arthur Leritz and Elisabeth Ruff. Arthur's professionalism and expertise were evident from our first interaction. He not only validated the severity of my injury but also instilled in me the confidence to pursue the closure of my claim while prioritizing my health. Elisabeth's meticulous attention to detail and genuine warmth made me feel truly cared for throughout the process. Their combined efforts allowed me to focus on my recovery while they adeptly handled communication with both insurance companies. The Settlement Letter they prepared was a testament to their dedication and expertise. It encapsulated three years of challenges and setbacks, empowering me as I prepared to move forward from the accident. The strength and professionalism exhibited by the entire team at Adler Giersch were instrumental in reaching a settlement and reclaiming hope for the future. I am forever grateful to Richard, Arthur, Elisabeth, and the entire team at Adler Giersch for their unwavering support and advocacy. I wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone in need of legal assistance in personal injury cases. Their commitment to their clients' well-being is unparalleled, and I cannot thank them enough for helping me navigate through a challenging time with grace and integrity.

Last year, I was involved in a car accident and enlisted the help of Elisabeth and the legal team she is working in. Their responsiveness and quick handling of all my inquiries were impressive. As someone unfamiliar with legalities and my rights, they guided me through the process, addressing my questions with a friendly demeanor. They managed the case exceptionally well, making the experience positive. I am delighted to have worked with them and wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone uncertain about where to turn in the event of accidents.

Elisabeth and I have consulted with each other in a professional capacity for multiple years. She is attentive, detail-oriented, and realistic in her approach. She is an experienced litigator and her judgment in assessing cases and presenting them in a courtroom is excellent.

I have know C. Anthony for almost 30 years. I was in professional school when he was in Law School. I have always been impressed with Tony's honesty and integrity. He has been my attorney for 25+ years and I have had outstanding service and attention. Tony has the rare gift of humor that dovetails well with a highly professional presentation. I would highly recommend him to anyone who is looking for an honest, caring, spirited, "real" family man. He has unique experience in several aspects of the law and has represented me in the health professions admirably. I view Mr. Davis as one of my closest and respected friends as well as my attorney. 5 stars...a true "10".

Diane represented my son in a family dispute over a parenting plan and alienation charges. She was successful in getting all of the charges dismissed. She is very professional and extremely effective in arguing a case. We all thought Diane was a pleasure to work with. We would recommend Diane to anyone with a legal family issue.

From the outset of our engagement, Andrew was uber prepared. He knew my case, knew my history, and knew the spectrum of potential issues. Prior to my court date, he ably led me through a comprehensive prep for the hearing--assuaging all of my concerns and answering questions. During the actual hearing, Andrew was polished and composed; he was organized, thorough and seemed to anticipate the judge's actions. He made this process seamless. I can not imagine a better disability advocate than Andrew McDonald.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Everett, Washington?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
