Jennifer and her whole team were very helpful through such a stressing process. They always made sure to keep me in the loop and answer every question I had. They make sure to listen to their clients needs and fight to get them the best outcome possible. Jennifer really cares about her clients and goes above and beyond. I would definitely recommend her.

After interviewing three other attorneys Karen was my choice. She asked good questions pertaining only to my case, she took good notes (in a note book not a laptop) and I didn't feel as though I was another number in the days quota. I found Karen to be firm but fair in dealing with all that were involved and very helpful in guiding me to make the right decisions for my case to have the outcome that I was happy with. The staff is professional and very friendly and good communication between all parties seems to be a priority. They make the office run flawlessly.

My wife and I were involved in a motorcycle accident that injured us both. We would never have been able to navigate everything Mr. Reinig took care of. Bill is kind, compassionate, experienced, and extremely skilled in his craft, which is making sure his clients are compensated for their injuries, ours having been a motorcycle accident. He was not only in consistent communication with us, but he was persistent in communicating with all parties involved and getting our case resolved. I have much appreciation for the job he did on our behalf and I am truly grateful he was here in the Tri Cities when this event happened. Thank you Bill for a job well done!

Prior to having Bill as my legal counsel I had never had any need for an attorney. I was injured in an auto accident in 2015 & had no idea where to turn, so I asked my chiropractor if he could recommend anyone to me. I didn't want to just pick someone out of the Yellow Pages or from an online ad. Much to my delight my chiropractor recommended Bill Reinig to me. He & his son Zach pretty much held my hand throughout the rather lengthy process. I was always kept in the loop & each step was painstakingly spelled out for me by them. When all was said & done my settlement far exceeded what I was expecting. So this is end of the story, right ? But wait there's more ! The settlement check was mailed to me. It was a 5 digit check. I took it to my bank to be deposited & the ATM machine ate it & did NOT give me credit for the deposit ! I tried for an entire week to get this resolved with my bank, but it just wasn't happening. They were telling me that it would take as much as 45 days for this to be resolved. I was beyond frustrated. So, as a last resort I called Bill's office & explained to Cindy what had happened. This was on a Friday at about noon. Bill was out of the office until the following Wednesday. The office staff typically leaves the office at 1 PM on Fridays. The bookkeeper was out until sometime the following week. Cindy called Bill immediately & explained the situation to him. Within 15 minutes Bill called me. Within 30 minutes they put a stop payment on the original check, issued a new check & sent via FedEx overnight to me. Now that's some over the top service if you ask me !! I define great service as something that happens when you least expect it. So ,if you are like me & you don't who to turn to for someone that will protect & serve your best interests, then please do yourself a favor & call Bill Reinig. You will sleep better because you made the right choice. I don't make statements like this unless they are well deserved & this one without question certainly is !!

William reinig, (bill) is truely a nice man! He really cares, actually cares about his clients being made whole again. He does everything he can and beyond to keep open communication with his clients, he fights for every penny for his clients! When my husband and I met him, the first thing I thought was he was not at all like the stereo types and jokes that come with the title attorney. I would recommend him to anyone! I couldn't have had a better experience, given the unfortunate circumstances. Thanks, Bill!

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Kennewick, Washington?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
