Leslie Blankman gives attorneys a good name. Professional and knowledgeable, she always has her clients’ best interests at heart. She knows family law inside and out and is skilled at asking questions and offering a range of solutions for her clients. Leslie understands that people are coming to her in what are often the most difficult times of their lives, and she treats her clients with compassion and respect, all while embodying a refreshing fair-mindedness. Additionally, she is open-minded and understands that families come in a range of structures and types. I have sought Leslie’s expertise on more than one occasion and have recommend her to friends in need of legal direction. It is clear that Leslie values her work as an attorney and mediator and strives to reach outcomes that all parties can live with.

In all my experiences with Ms. Blankman, she has been professional, courteous, and a pleasure to work with. I met with A LOT of lawyers for my divorce and I am so incredibly grateful that I got to work with Bita and have continued to do so over the years. She is fair but firm and also understands that any divorce has an emotional side that comes into play. She has continued to be my lawyer for anything that has come up over the last 10 years since by divorce and is the only one I refer people to. I cannot say enough good things about her as lawyer and a person.

She is easy to work with. Made quick work of my divorce, it was painless. Set up the parenting plan best suited for my kids. Was always quick to respond if anything changed. It was nice working with her.

I originally hired Bita in 2010 when my ex was trying to gain custody of our daughter. Bita helped me navigate filing papers myself to have the case dismissed rather than charging me a huge amount for something I could do myself. In 2016, I reached out again and started talking with Bita about my needs in family court. I didn't take any action until 2019 but Bita was there for the 3 years in between to seek advise and direction. After our case was filed in 2019, Bita quickly discovered my case was out of her scope of work and did not hesitate to refer me to a collogue who was better suited for my case. Even after I was no longer a paying client, Bita continued to help when I had questions, frustrations or needed something about my case explained. Not only is Bita well versed in court proceedings and law but she has a wonderful personality, great demeaner and is a compassionate and ethical attorney. I honestly hope I never need a family law attorney again, but if I did, Bita would be the FIRST one I would call!

Not culturally competent. I'm Black and my ex is white. She actively praised my ex for cheating on me (calling it a blessing) and said that I shouldn't hold any of that against her. She only took my ex's feelings into account. When I talked about how things were impacting me, she was dismissive and told me to just make different choices that would be even more harmful to me in the long run. She continuously took sides during the mediation and held double standards. She was not helpful in dividing things equitably. She tried to operate outside of scope of practice by giving life and emotional advice that was unwanted. When I asked to take time to think about things, she did not allow this and continued to push me and put blame on me for wanting to set boundaries and not make rash decisions.

Bita is highly knowledgeable and personable, and I felt immediate confidence in her instinct and ability to achieve the most positive outcome possible. I was overwhelmed by my situation, and her guidance in helping me interpret the law, understand my options, and design a future provided a huge relief. Because of her patience and flexibility I was able to find a path forward that resulted in an ideal outcome that is still working very well today. I can’t thank her enough, she has my highest recommendation!

Bita is a professional and extremely competent lawyer. After a year of trying to work out a resolution with the other difficult lawyer, she kept on focus and never backed down. She was looking out what was best for me and fair. So glad I found her.
