I was MORE than impressed with Mr. Sheehy's knowledge on the best way to go about handling my DUI. I am 100% convinced if I had gone with the other recommendations I received for representation, the outcome of my case would have been dramatically different in a negative way. I have unfortunately known quite a few people who have gotten DUI's and none of them were given the quality of counsel I received.

Mr. Sheehy was very professional and collected when it came to my DUI. Sheehy and his team managed to dig into the police report and knew the DUI process quite well, I was in good hands. Thankfully he managed to reduce the charge into a MIP after 5 court dates.

I had to resort to contacting Washington State Bar Association to report concerns (which the office called frivolous, of course). I was advised to file an ineffective counsel claim based on the content of my grievance instead but then he quickly refunded my retainer. (I couldn’t have done anything wrong because I didn’t make money off from it defense?) Before that, even my email inbox could summarize how many reminders it took on average over past 8 months to get a response! The hours of legal attention were actually low (2 court appointments, first one was 10 minutes; a few emails and phone calls he did on my behalf). It was more stressful dealing with his office than dealing with the cases themselves. P.S. I am representing myself on a case he previously handled. Mike's claim (we will get very busy) didn't happen. First a few court dates are very routinely administrative. My case will be dismissed more easily than Jeffrey Epstein's (for different reason; no one will be dead here) and nothing like a behemoth that Mike predicted to make his sell.

Update: I got charged with single count of felony after hiring Mike to do the pre-filing. I went on representing myself and got the charge dismissed in 5 months. He did honor a full refund. In retrospect, Mike and his assistant Wendy actually did an excellent job of collecting information and emails from police department or other sources. That left me with WAY MORE information than the prosecutor and allowed me to start the negotiation game with confidence. However, the communication with charging prosecutor was meager and did not point out most issues that may have prevented the charge from being filed in the first place. The evidence admissible in trial is VERY different from the police reports. I will spare the details here but alone I fought the evidence directly with the trial prosecutor and accepted no offer other than dismissal. Having no defense attorney in between, I was able to read him extremely well and knew he would not ever be ready for the trial! It has been an aggravating experience working with Mike and his assistant. I was out of the area most of the time and paid full fees upfront to save hassle, which turned out to be a costly mistake. The team was eager and agreeable in the beginning but the service quality took a nose dive after a few months. His assistant even flat out asked me whether I had a new case when I requested to talk! I spent so much time pushing for responses over email and phone calls that in the end I decided to negotiate a way out of the agreement. In addition, having a broad interest in law, I wasn't totally convinced by the way he assessed the severity of my issues and described various factors that would come to affect my case outcomes.
