I definitely recommend Mr. Tario to anyone needing representation for personal injury. He was professional and knowledgeable, and helped me win my case. I liked how at ease he was during the whole process from beginning to end. You can tell he's done this many times, and he knows what to expect and what to do next. The only thing that caught me by surprise was the additional fees. He is upfront about his 40% contingency fee and let's you know there is an additional charge for filing fees and whatnot. However the additional fees are 2000.00$ on top of the 40% which is already a little higher than the 33.3% that other lawyers charge. I just wish I would have known that or maybe I overlooked that in the contract.

My case, I feel, was unique. The insurance companies were fighting very hard to get us to settle. In the end it took a long time but Michael and Sandy never stopped fighting for me. The team Tario and Associates have are top notch. They were very compassionate and responsive through the entire process. I appreciate all the hard work they put in for me.

I was hit by an uninsured driver and I sustained a significant injury and my car was substantially damaged. The insurance company offered me a few thousand dollars, not even enough to cover my medical bills. I hired Michael Tario and Tario & Associates because I used them in the past and was very satisfied with their services. Mr. Tario and his staff worked tirelessly on my behalf. They were able to obtain a very fair settlement for me. I highly reccommend Michael Tario and Tario & Associates for anyone that has been injured in an accident and needs a top notch attorney to help them fight the insurance company for a fair settlement.

I first met Gabriel Harrison in 2013 through my friend. After I knew him, I knew he was the immigration lawyer I was looking for. He is very responsible, efficient and reasonable. He helped me through all the process getting my citizenship and after this, he helped my wife get her green card too. Without his help this all of this was almost impossible for us. Special thanks to GABRIEL HARRISON.

Mr. Kamb has been very responsive and helpful in my consultations with him, and very honest about his ability to help me. He saw me with no notice when I was in a jamb, and took a sincere interest in helping me. I very much appreciate his support and honesty.

Holly was the ideal advocate for me while going through a difficult child custody case. She made me feel empowered at every step of the court process and was so knowledgeable about the details, that she nearly predicted the outcome of every court hearing! She was my teacher, my counselor and my supporter which I desperately needed on my side. Without her, I do not believe that I would have had the outcome that I did. She was always available to me, no matter what, she answered all of my questions, without concern for charging me for each and every second. She met with me whenever possible and she made me feel as if we were a part of a team, even though this was my personal issue and the outcome would not directly affect her personally, she never made me feel as if my questions, concerns or fears were unimportant. I will never be able to thank her fully for what she has given me and my family!

Holly assisted me thru my custody/divorce case. She was compassionate, fair, strong & knows the laws inside and out. She helped me to clearly understand my options/choices and the very important long term outcome picture. I completely trusted her. I have since recommended her to others in need of a variety of famil-law advise & they have been very pleased with the legal assistance she ha provided them. I STRONGLY recommend Holly if you are ever in need of family-custody help.

I never thought I'd be getting divorced, and I was sick about the whole thing, but Holly Newman's mediation smoothed out the process and let us concentrate on fairness and doing what was right. She provided us with packages of all the forms and requirements, and over a few meetings, walked us through the details. She always seemed sympathetic to our situation, without taking sides. She took us through the questions that needed to be answered and turned it all into completed forms for us to sign, then presented it all in court, without our having to be there. I wouldn't wish a divorce on anybody, but our marriage had fallen apart, and Holly eased us past the worst of it so we can get on with our lives.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Mount Vernon, Washington?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
