When I first met Mr. Powers it was from the other side, during his years as a prosecutor for Skagit County, but none the less a very fair and impressive young professional. Years later, when I saw that He had now become an Criminal Defense attorney, I made the calculation that because this man was a prosecutor before and was now working for the defense of individuals, I figured who better to represent me than someone whom was familiar with the ins and outs, and procedures of the courts than Jason Powers. We'll let me just say that my calculations were correct, this man was not only able to maneuver through the often tricky court procedures to my advantage, but also put fourth legal procedures and processes that I had never even heard of before to help me? He helped me to close out one case without me even having to be there present in the court room which was very difficult. But, besides having the confidence of the best defense money can buy, he is also an incredibly humble human being, always approachable, always willing to hear what I had to say and act on it, in my best interests. How I wish I had had him as my attorney years ago! I would recommend this good and competent attorney to any person that wants someone who will not only provide the best defense possible, but also an attorney that listens to what you have to say, simply above and beyond what I had expected from an attorney of Mr. Powers caliber.

I retained Jason on a number of things over the past eight years. Each time I needed Mr. Powers' services he delivered. He was thorough, patient and kept me informed each step of the way. When it was necessary, Jason was aggressive but treated everyone with respect. Each time I used the firm of Powers and Costeck I came away with a great result. If you are in need of an attorney for a criminal matter I can't think of anyone better than Jason Powers.

If you're case is in Skagit County you're better off hiring an attorney from another county. In my opinion and from my experience they are afraid to challenge the prosecution or judges. You are told things will be one way then when you're in front of the judge you're blindsided. Jason won't challenge it. Tags are hung on you which may not apply these are also NOT questioned.

I was looking for a lawyer one evening a few months ago after I found out I was the victim of a completely bogus charge. I sent his firm an e-mail that evening, fully expecting to not hear back until the next day. To my surprise he responded within the hour. After hearing my story, he said it was the kind of scenario that drove him nuts, where a plaintiff completely abuses the system. I had checked out another lawyer that was well renowned, but I felt Jason was more willing to fight for me...and he did. After explaining my side of things to the prosecutor and backing it up with a mountain of evidence, the prosecutor agreed to have the charge dismissed without hesitation. I would highly recommend Jason to anyone. He's a straight shooter and is very easy to work with.

Jason is very good people and an outstanding attorney and like most I don't, in general like attorneys. I'm telling you this so you understand where this review is coming from... Jason is one of those rare attorneys with a heart and actually cares about the people he helps. When your business with him is done, you will walk away with a new friend. His professionalism, judgment and humanitarianism are next to none. This is the attorney you want! Trust me on this one. Thank God I was lucky enough to find this man.

Jason did an superior job of helping my son and our family get through an extremely unpleasant time of our lives. He was consistently empathetic, absolutely always available for communication, and handled our uninformed questions with patient explanation; moreover, he always asked if there was anything else we had questions about. He helped us navigate the court system as comfortably and conveniently as possible. His price was fair, and he allowed us to pay him over a few months, making it easier to work this unexpected cost into our budget. I wish we could give him six stars. No kidding.
