Mr. Lucenko helped my family through a rough and emotional case. He was always kind and understanding when out stress and anxiety peaked. When in front of the judge he was nothing less than impressive. He balanced law, common sense, and emotional arguments incredibly well. He talks fast so all parts of his client's claims, stances, and evidence can be heard in a short 10 minute speech. I would recommend Mr. Lucenko to anyone, but especially those who want a genuine lawyer who will see them as a person rather than a case. Aside from his skills as a lawyer, Lenny is a good guy and fun to banter with before and after court.

not having an attorney during a divorce should not be met with bullying and threats from his loud clueless attorney. My Ex just paid him to take his place, hide his fraud, hide the truth, he allowed his client to commit perjury multiple times and keep me without a penny. He allowed his client to play retaliation despite his attorney knowing it was all lies and would continue to defame and disrespect me. He had multiple conflicts of interest and should not have accepted my ex husband as a client, money talks ethics and morals walk.

Representing me in my divorce, it became obvious Mr. Lucenko accepted my former husband's false allegations as truth. My spouse had not worked 24 of our 29 year marriage and strove to fulfill years of threats that I would walk away in a divorce “without a dime". It was a scorch earth strategy full of personal attacks and untruths. Mr. Lucenko refused to forward my questions onto my former spouse's attorney until too late and pressured me to enter into mediation ill prepared and without my questions being addressed. Mr. Lucenko’s paralegal told me my diamond earrings, a gift, were only half mine. I felt defenseless. An emotional time to be sure, only worsening with Mr. Lucenko at the helm after which I detailed my experience in a complaint to the Bar. I encourage every woman seeking representation in a complicated divorce to go elsewhere.

Mr Lucenko handled my divorce. With Mr. Lucenko you get exactly what you pay for. If you are a higher earning individual and can easily afford his rates then he will work hard for you and you will get the best representation. If you are in the lower tier earning wise and struggle to make your payments you will get lower tier representation. The latter is me. He was great in the beginning but when my initial payment was depleted that was the end of my good representation. Unfortunately it happened right at the mediation phase which in my opinion is the the most important. I was basically left on my own, he was barely in the room as my advocate during the process and I got beat badly. In hindsight, I should have just walked out of the room, I would have been much better off today. So, If you can afford Mr. Lucenko and can keep him happy monetarily then I would recommend him. But, if there is any hint of you not being able to easily afford his fees. Then go find another attorney.

In April, 2017, what I believed to be a safe, secure, 25-year marriage came to a shattering end with one phone call from the police. I had no idea what lawyers to consider so my financial planner did some research and said Lenny came highly recommended and was very impressed with his calm reassurance and thus began our 2.5 year up and down negotiations with an incarcerated spouse. I had many frantic calls and tear-filled meetings with Lenny and I always left feeling well informed about possible outcomes. Of course, I wanted justice but Lenny kept me grounded in state law and pitfalls to avoid as I fought with my husband through countless 15-minute prison phone calls for the best settlement. It was a horribly difficult situation. Lenny also worked quickly to protect assets by getting two homes we owned into my name. That really helped me later in settling. At any point this divorce could have flared up into a nasty battle with my husband's lawyer wasting more valuable assets. But Lenny's masterful maneuvering and excellent communication skills kept us moving forward without everyone's emotions spiraling out of control. Lenny has a marvelous, first-class paralegal, Susie Faraone, who spent time helping me prepare a huge box of discovery interrogatories. I had so many questions and felt so overwhelmed. Susie helped me navigate through and was so patient with all my mistakes and misunderstandings. She also answered my frantic phone calls quickly regarding quit claim documents, locating handwritten letters from my husband, and laying out banking procedures for me. The last month was the most stressful for us because I was racing to complete the divorce by the last day of the year so that I could save taxes by filing single. Lenny worked closely with all parties and pulled it all together with a very strong settlement in my favor. I believe it was much more than if we had faced mediation or a trial. Susie spent those last critical days preparing closing spreadsheets and banking information that meant everything made it to Thurston County Court in the final hours!! I was able to avoid tremendous stress at the end due to Lenny and Susie's quick, knowledgeable actions. I will trust them with any future legal issues and I give them the highest recommendation possible. They are a credit to OlyLaw and all of us who suffer devastating surprise divorces. Thank you so much for "being there" for me these past 2.5 years.

I was very pleased with Andrew Yi as my attorney. I believe I was given the best professional advice and assistance with my court case with him as my attorney. Because of his diligence I had a excellent outcome in my court case. I highly recommend him. Would most definitely have him again. That only being the case I find myself needing an attorney again. God Willing I don't...

When I first contacted Andrew Yi, I had planned on meeting with several lawyers so I could shop around and really get one I was comfortable with, since my previous encounters had been pretty terrible. I've even had a lawyer call me AFTER the case was settled, only to bill me over $100 for a follow up phone call that lasted five minutes. Needless to say, I was extremely nervous about going through all that again. But after meeting with Andrew, I knew I didn't need to talk to anyone else. Even though he told me exactly what to expect, he was still very reassuring and friendly. I never felt like I was just a client to him. He really seemed to care about me and my case from the very beginning. Not only that, but he showed incredible aptitude in the court room, and everything went so much smoother than I had imagined. He speaks the language of the prosecutors, and seemed to have no trouble getting what he wanted. I certainly hope I will not need a lawyer again any time soon, but in the unlikely event that I do, I will be contacting Andrew Yi immediately.

From start to finish Mr. Yi was extremely helpful. I feel I am more knowledgeable about the law now just from the short time I spent with Mr. Yi about my case. I would recommend to anyone to hire Mr. Yi especially for DUI help!

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Olympia, Washington?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
