I wish I had met and hired Jody at FLS sooner, they picked up my case in the 23rd hour and did great job. He was a voice of reason and kept communicating with me in the perfect way and by no way am I any easy client. I struggled to read the court documents and the extremely emotional mostly pissed through the whole process. Jody did a great job taking the time to explain everything to me and with great detail. Even when I wanted to rush through something he would say no we are going through this line by line. I will say this interview him and The Law dog Jake. I will me recommending him to everyone that ask me about a divorce.

DO NOT HIRE this firm under any circumstances, listen to the other reviewers! Terrible legal representation, unprofessional, unkind and gaslighting attorneys, capable of losing a simple case as a PO. Huge turnover. I was tossed around between attorneys with 1-3 years of experience who argued with me along about my own case and misstated facts. Greedy beyond belief. Overcharging for any and all services. Nearly $20 000 for obtaining a protection order!! Please seek help elsewhere!

First off, my first 2 experiences with Family Law Solutions were great (2016-2019) When my ex-husband filed for an adjustment to child support recently (2022) I was assured by FLS that the best approach was to change to a modification so we could dive into his and his new wife’s finances, as well as show that he was underemployed. I was given a quote, however the end amount I owed ended up being almost 2-3x of what I was quoted. When I started to get concerned as the bills greatly surpassed the original quote, it was recommended that I switch the associate lawyer, Isabella. I feel this was a HUGE mistake and regret it to this day. The associate lawyer seemed extremely nervous during the hearing. She forgot to include the form showing that my employer pays for my healthcare in full and that my ex should be paying his portion of our kids monthly medical insurance. Because she forgot that document, the judge decided I needed to pay the full monthly healthcare alone. My last hearing was 8 months ago and I’m still shaken up as I write this post. My total bill ended up being significantly more than I was told to originally expect. (I understand that was an estimate but to have it be 2-3x higher was shocking). I was given $1500 back after the hearing. Now I’m left paying majority of the costs for my children, even though my ex-husband and new wife have a much higher household income. The whole experience was awful. Again, I had some really good years with FLS, but this last one was horrible for me and I’m still paying the price and sadly will for years to come. I wish I could go back and do it all over again. I DO NOT RECOMMEND.

Hired to draft a prenup within two months of the wedding. Changed it to a post nup because my husband could not find someone who would allow him sign something so close to the wedding date, but she was fine with it. Long delays in sending us a draft of the post nup. When the draft did finally show up, it was the opposite of what we had asked for. Everything was separate, not community property, spousal support totally waived. It was 100% against my best interests and literally every single term was the opposite of what I had said I wanted in our first call and what my husband and I had aligned on prior to the wedding. She was surprised and said that is not what was discussed, which is wildly not true. She would not write the types of terms discussed because it was too close the current law. We think it is prudent to have some sort of written agreement in place, she did not agree. Caused 3 months of delay. HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMEND THIS LAWYER. She does not listen, is not proactive, is not practical, and will probably do the opposite of what is asked. Since talking with other lawyers to find a replacement, nearly every bit of advice or strategy that she proposed was not very practical advice according to 5+ more lawyers.

Jeff Tuttle and all of his associates are truly the most helpful and respectful people to work with. I was involved in a motor vehicle accident and their team helped take care of everything from the start to finish. Despite the whole case taking some time, throughout the whole process they were always giving updates and were willing to talk through the options. The most important aspects about working with Jeff is that 1. He makes sure to get the job done and to make his clients happy with his service 2. He ensures to articulate his words very carefully so that his clients can fully understand the scenario and outcomes 3. His good faith work ethic. I trust him to handle my future cases and I will come back to him if needed. Thanks Tuttle & Associates!

He is excellent with giving out information that all should know about retirement and the cost of healthcare. I as a physician learned how to not lose everything financially due to healthcare cost by the time I am 85. Unfortunately only 1 patient of all my Medicare patients has listened to the advice I gave to them from Mr. Tuttle’s radio talk 5-7 years ago. I always listened to his radio time replayed on Sunday as I headed down to the nursing home to see patients. How ironic!

As General Counsel, David has been a great asset to our company. He has a very analytical mind and does an amazing job at seeing both the important details and the big picture. He also brings an impressive level of creativity to the table, with an ability to approach a business problem from multiple angles. David would be a great addition to any organization.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Redmond, Washington?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
