Good evening, I hardly write reviews, but after reading so many positive reviews. I've decided to give Mr. Groover a chance. Mr. Groover would be my second attorney for this citation. In the beginning everything seemed promising and their communication was fantastic compared to my first lawyer where I would not get a response for days and even a whole week. My first lawyer told me he would take care of everything and look into my case. Offered to help with a citation. Come to find out nothing was done and gave some bogus advice stating I can only appeal this citation. I ended driving back to court 10 minutes after he stated that and I recieved another contested hearing for may 12. I decided to look for a new lawyer after filing my grievance with the state bar for his conduct. that's when 1 decided to look for a new lawyer and came across K. Groover and his reviews. Spoked to Mr. Groover or his assistant, mid April. I Informed him as to what happened to my first attorney which I filed a grievance against for the fact that he stated he would help with the citation, would look into it, ended up he didn't do anything. But still have the nerves to offer his service to help with my insurance claim. 05/08 I got a call while I was at work and was told to either take the plea bargain or Kenneth will not be representing me. Stating with how federal way court works, they had 2 lawyers look at the case they don't want to take on the case. I asked why and their was responses was we don't want to ruin our relation with the prosecutors. Refuse to even take this to trial even after I told them they will be compensated for their time. So far the only thing they did was prolong my court date. Filed a continuance since Mr. Groover was busy with other cases. When it came down to my case, pressuring me to take a plea bargain. Not just once but on multiple occasion. They are more worried about their relations with the prosecutor. Instead of actually representing their client. What relation are they referring to? Are they just trying to avoid putting this officer on the stand? Now I got an email stating the officer can't attend my new hearing date and it got pushed back to July. Where's the justice in that? If you think this is all about money it is not. I can easily pay off this citation, I'm only fighting this because 1ST, I did nothing wrong and if they want to give me that citation they can give it on record based on hearsay. Nothing on the police report was admissible in court until I see everyone involved testify under oath. The person who cause the accident did not have insurance, nor did she get a citation. The best part is the police report was 1 paragraph long they considered that evidence. At the end of the day I rather pay thousands in legal fees than pay this greedy city. I wonder how serious Mr Groove would take this case If I did offered $1,500. Win or lose I'll happily pay my insurance premiums. 5/11, called today and found out the lawyer withdrew Officer Sales from being subpoenaed. I responded "with why" with no response then Stated prosecutor offered a plea bargain and we don't want to take on this case because we don't want to ruin our relation with the prosecutor. Also stating I won't get my partial refund back unless I sign some paperwork. But all was done was my court date getting prolonged. I told them I'm not signing anything until my new lawyer sees the document they are requiring me to sign before my portion of the payment. 1/3 goes to lawyer fee since they took on my case and filed a continuance. my refund are being held until the paperwork they are requesting are signed. Update: want to give me a full refund but wants me to sign some paperwork before the fund are release back to me!

If you're in need of a traffic speeding lawyer, I highly recommend Kenneth Grover. I recently had the pleasure of working with them on a case and I was incredibly impressed with their expertise, professionalism, and dedication to getting the best possible outcome. From the very beginning, Mr. Grover was attentive and responsive to my needs. They took the time to listen to my concerns and explain the legal process to me in a way that was easy to understand. Throughout the case, they kept me updated on any developments and answered all of my questions promptly. What really stood out to me was Mr Grover's knowledge of traffic law and their ability to negotiate with the prosecutor. They were able to get my charges reduced to a lesser offense, which saved me a significant amount of money in fines and insurance premiums. Overall, I was extremely satisfied with my experience working with Mr. Grover's. They are an excellent traffic speeding lawyer and I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone in need of legal representation for traffic violations.

The Law Office of Igor A. Shapiro is truly outstanding. Igor has helped me successfully beat two traffic tickets and I couldn’t be more impressed with the level of service. The responsiveness and communication from both Igor and his team were top notch, making the entire process seamless and stress free. Not only has he been a huge help to me but I also know several friends he’s helped win in court as well. Igor’s expertise and dedication are unmatched. I highly recommend him to anyone in need of legal assistance. Hopefully, I won’t need to use his services again anytime soon!

I was the victim of an auto accident a little over a year ago. I chose Paul (Bud) Houser, Jr. to represent me. I got his name from the bar association, checked his website, and did a quick internet search to check out his history. I called Bud and he immediately started documenting facts and even met me at the site of the incident to gather information. Bud not only acted as my lawyer, but after being completely disregarded by insurance companies and the involved parties, Bud was there to comfort me. I was scared and didn’t know what to do. He told me not to worry and just take care of myself. He listened to my concerns and never once made me feel like any of my questions were dumb. He never cut me off and never seemed irritated with my ramblings or opinions. He did not ask for any money up front and they completed all the paperwork at his office. It took a little over a year to settle my case (which I have come to discover is a great timeframe). He was able to convince the other side to settle for a reasonable amount out of court, sparing me further inconvenience and stress. He walked me through the process, helped me obtain medical care that was much needed, completed all the paperwork, made all communications necessary, and the thing I liked the most is he made me feel comfortable. He provided me with a check the same day it cleared at the bank and is taking care of any follow up issues directly with the insurance. Bud Houser is a great attorney. I am very pleased with his services and the amount of support I received. I would definitely recommend that anyone with a legal need seek his advice and/or services.

Understand the fee structure, including hourly rates, flat fees, retainer fees, and any additional expenses.
  3. Who will be handling my case?
Find out if the lawyer will handle your case personally or delegate tasks to other attorneys or paralegals.
  4. What is your approach to resolving cases like mine?
Learn about their strategy, whether they prefer negotiation, mediation, or litigation.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Renton, Washington?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
