Robin Shishido is an incredible attorney! When I first came to her with my legal issue, I was overwhelmed and scared and she made me feel like my case was totally taken care of. More than that, she did her due diligence and always kept me in the loop. She made me feel like we were a team and that justice was inevitable— in my circumstances, at the time, that was a huge sense of relief. I reached out to Robin Shishido to help me understand the severance agreement provided as a part of my layoff. Since I'm over 40 years old, the layoff notice was required to include additional information related to OWBPA and ADEA, but I was concerned my former employer wasn't meeting all of the requirements. Robin gave an initial estimate for time required to review the document and applicable laws and stayed within that estimate. Although she was busy with other issues, she remained responsive and mindful of the timeline/deadline we discussed for resolution. Although Robin didn't find any issues directly related to my concerns, she found several other issues in the severance agreement, gave her opinion on legal gray areas that may be an issue in the future, and her opinion on what may happen if we follow up with the employer with those concerns. Most importantly, Robin took the time to explain the important parts of the document and their related laws, ensuring that I clearly understood what was being covered. Although I didn't have an issue that could turn into a big payout, Robin still made me feel that my issue was just as important as any other. For this reason alone, I will be reaching out to Robin Shishido in the future if I need an employment attorney.

As I suspect is the case with most individuals who engage civil rights attorneys, I found Robin’s services during a very difficult time, both personally and professionally. I had an excellent experience with Robin and her firm. I would highly recommend her and them. I contacted Robin when I encountered difficulties with my longtime employer regarding my established disability accommodations. After a change in leadership, my employer failed to implement the accommodation as required, and I was being stonewalled in my own efforts to remedy the situation. When I contacted Robin, my goal was to restore proper implementation of my accommodations without a lawsuit and, ideally, without souring my good relations with colleagues. Both were achieved. Although it was not a high dollar matter, this felt like a David v. Goliath situation, potentially impacting my career and livelihood. When I first reached out to Shishido Taren Goldsworthy I wasn’t exactly sure what to expect, and was exhausted from the harassment and discrimination that I was experiencing at work. However, in my line of work I know how hard it can be to establish and hold professional boundaries when the person you are helping is undergoing a difficult or even traumatic experience, while still showing the empathy you feel and also ensuring that the process is productive and Robin did that so gracefully that I didn't even realize it until now when I have finally made it to a place where I can move on from this experience, and have paused to look back. I felt only support and encouragement from her at all times.
